My late brother had downs syndrome. He loved Gaither Vocal Band & all the singers on Homecoming. All Bobby wanted was to sing with GVB & play the drums. Well Bobby went to Heaven & I am sure he is playing drums & singing at the top of his voice because he found a choir that would let him sing.

I remember hearing this song on radio and wanting to have it personally. My mom looked everywhere for it and couldn't find it. Then that summer my family took a trip to Opryland Amusement Park in Nashville Tennessee and in a record Store in the park there it was found it on a 45 for cassette tapes weren't out yet and I believe 8 tracks were done and the only thing was records. I still have it today just nothing to play it on. Thanks Mom and Dad for some great memories

OH MY GOOD LORD I HAVE LOOKED AND SEARCHED FOR THIS SONG FOR YEARS LITERALLY AND I HAVE FINALLY FOUND IT. I USE TO RIDE AROUND WITH MY GRANDFATHER AND HE HAD THIS ON A GAITHERS CASSETTE TAPE AND WOULD BLAST THIS AND THE WHOLE TAPE. WOW. THIS REALLY HIT ME!

This song gets to me. I grew up in the 70's and 80's singing in many church and school choirs. Then 7 years ago at age 47, I had to get an emergency tracheotomy/cricothyrotomy (they had to do it twice) in order to save my life. Now I still have my speaking voice, but my voice box is severely damaged and I can't make high or low notes anymore. Being a singer was a big part of who I was, and I miss singing in choirs. This song makes me tear up and get homesick for Heaven.

My middle name is Lee and so I was closer to my Great Uncle Lee than other Greats. He always dreamed of being a paid singer and almost had a chance once. Now he is in that choir and singing at the top of his lungs with the greatest smile. He told my mother "with more emphasis than he had been able to muster for a long time.."I really feel like God wants me to sing in the choir--Can you believe that? God wants ME to sing in HIS choir!" (At 7 am the next morning he had just gone to heaven when I arrived at the hospital)" Wish I had known about this song and I would have had it played at his funeral.

Wow my first time hearing this song (2021) What a beautiful story and I love how the lead singer puts it across. I discovered the Gaither Vocal Band a few years back and it really opened up my horizons to the beautiful music they sing to the Lord.
