For the feathers, I take a very cheap hair straightener and use that on the feathers. For one it sanitized and 2 it will help the feathers stick together again and make them look new. :D

something that might help newer people is showing how you research jewelry, how you find names from signatures or look up tags, how you find out what those things sell for, as i'm typing this i'm thinking jeez char she's probably got videos on those things because that's just the kind of thing she'd have done lol. how bout a video on common mistakes to avoid when selling? anything with feathers or thread tassels get labeled used cat toys, nice C for char lol. yes the deer is def older than the 30's i'd say, very nice. this is a really nice box, i think there was a shipping mistake and it was supposed to come to my house... hand it over, lol.

The 925 key pendant @ 9:45 -- I would fix it and I use G-S Hypo Cement, buy on eBay. It has a tiny, tiny nozzle for replacing little stones. Best glue for jewelry! That size and color of stone for replacement is an easy fix; just harvest from a piece going to a craft jar. Love the deer @ 12:45, & the thread thru pearls @ 32:45 & Majorica pearls, Love the music interludes!!!! TY, Texas Gal, XO!!!!

I think you should continue the series of videos on what brand of costume jewelry to look out for, toys that are a good source for resell, mugs too. I think people need to be resourceful in these times like I have started to look on eBay, mercari etc for things priced low that I can flip for a profit. Maybe you have ideas of other sourcing strategies.

I learned a trick for replacing tiny stones/gems. Take a toothpick and put a little ball of clay or play dough on the end. It will stick to the top of the stone the. Apply the glue to the gem and the spot it’s going. Then place it and hold for a min. Cool thing is the clay doesn’t stick to the gem top 😉🙃 Hope that helps. I think it’s worth it if it’s a cool piece and only one or two things need to be done. Great video thanks 🥰

Also, nail supply places like Sally's sell pencil shaped wax tipped gem picker uppers (it's used to place rhinestones on for nail art). For those who repair jewelry often, it would be a good inexpensive tool to have on hand.

Video idea: more about what you do with valuable scraps/broken pieces. Loose gems? I know you have a “gold guy” but how did you set up that relationship? Have you had loose precious gems/diamonds and what do we do with them? (I actually have some)
@danndeelion4 жыл бұрын
What kind of loose gems do you have? If they are decent quality they could bring in some good money for them. Were they from gold settings? If you want to sell them you need to know how to grade them properly though, especially diamonds.

Booty heart 🤣🤣😭😭 hilarious!! I think that starfish necklace is coming from China! A lot of pieces marked 925 that are in fact not pure sterling come out of China. Jewelry maker/repairer here. I would highly recommend e6000 glue to glue back in loose glass diamonds. What you said is perfect - using a toothpick to add a little bit of glue in the hole, and reattach the diamond. If you can’t find the diamonds, you can always order some replacement cz round loose gems. If you ever have any jewelry repair questions, feel free to hit me up! I’m always happy to help! :)

I got some ideas for videos. How did you get started. What is your favorite find from the goodwill bins, or thred up. Etc. That could be several different videos based on the store you got them from. How about a video on some of the jewelry you got from a box that you just couldn't part with. A video start to finish for an item. where you got it, how much it cost, taking the photos and listing then how much it sold for. I'm sure you done these before but you can always do New ones.
