I have an antique meat grinder from 1920s and use it in kitchen. Found out through trial and error that the auger spindle as the raw meat is fed through the hopper the blood drains out through crank handle end (no gasket seal). If you pack Crisco shortening to seal that end on both sides the blood/liquids won't leak onto floor. Also you can make bread crumbs just make sure to cut away crust and that bread is very dry. Otherwise it will gum up the blade.

Do you know why an Alexanderwerk m/g is resistant to rusting? Does the coating act like a sacrifical anode? I have a replacement screw for the handle. It rusts right away if it gets wet. The original body doesn't rust at all when left to dry after washing. How is it possible that the sandblasting machine cleans the metal but doesn't break up the glove?

This device is not only covered but also its entire body is made of zinc material which does not rust. They also have their own manuals for sandblasting.

I have a lot of Alexander Werk products that are more than 100 years old. How can they be sold as antiques?

Ну мастер переборщил с рестоврацией ! Никогда эти мясорубки не были покрыты краской , во вторых чёрный цвет это просто жуть... Работа хорошая но покраска всё испортила .
