The clock turned out great! I'm glad that you were able to restore it :) It still surprises me that Beha made full plate movements for cuckoo clocks (not skeletonised). Are you planning to also restore that 8-day shield clock next to it?

Much appreciated! In the late 1800s, Beha occasionally produced brass plate movements on demand, mostly with full plates eventhough I have one skeletonized single day weight driven movement from that time, which were made by Beha and his workers themselves. After Johann Baptist Behas death in 1898 and the takeover of his sons, production shifted away from antiquated wooden plates entirely, using movements which were bought from factories like Burger in Schonach (which produces the Regula cuckoo movement today) and only finalized in the Beha workshops. The shield clock is a nice early example with wooden arbours, but I will likely give it as is to a friend of mine who will restore it for himself.

@@uhrennarrLR That is very interesting! I actually thought that wooden plate Beha movements were older than those brass ones. Thank you very much for the info!! Good luck to your friend restoring the shield clock :) By the way, what brand is that single train Vienna style clock shown at the end of the video, if you don't mind me asking?

@@luka3377 Well, the wooden plate movements came first, but brass plate ones were produced at the same time for an upcharge, until they eventually became cheap enough to produce to replace them. That regulator has an unsigned movement very close to those made by Lenzkirch.

Yes I do! I'm currently working on a double fusee and a Beha monk clock, both with wooden plates, for example.

@@Oldclockschannel125 Looking forward to it! Be sure to get all the grime out of the bushings, you can use toothpicks or pull a string soaked in spiritus through them. Also clean out the lantern pinions using a toothbrush, they are often caked with dirt as well. Then, you need to arrange the wheels of the striking train correctly so that the hammer is in resting position when the strike stops.

Leider ist die Kamera zu weit weg von der Uhr und man sieht nichts von dem was getan wird.

Ich suche noch nach einer besseren Möglichkeit, die Kamera in guter Position zu befestigen.
