Sarah Acuff as someone who studies fashion design, let me share the words of my professor “if you don’t know if this is for you, buy a cheap sewing machine to start” all you need is one that does all the simple things straight stitch, zigzag, and button holes, Walmart sells brother sewing machines that are cheap but get the job done especially if you are starting out and don’t know how well you might like the hobby. My brother sewing machine cost around $60 (they do lower it but this what what i got it for) and got me through my first 3 years at uni and my collection for the fashion show (and I used upholstery fabric for all of my pieces). I’ve recently stent $600 on a new one since mine was... dead from all the abuse 😂 but I already know I like what i do so I can justify the investment (i totes didn’t spend an extra like $200 on accessories and feet’s for mine but yknow that’s besides the point and I totes don’t have a shopping problem)

Aaah, I’m so jealous over the fabric stores! There’s nothing like that around where I live, and I’m really contemplating dragging my partner on a trip so I can go to a bigger city and stock up. I saw so many beautiful fabrics flashing by in the video, I need them to make skirts and blouses!

I LOVED the skeleton holding the Jesus portrait- that was amazing! I also quite like vicariously antique browsing- most antique stores (where I live anyway) are very small and crowded, and not at all wheelchair friendly, which is very sad. I love antiques. I just can’t ever get close enough to look at them, and I’m lucky to even get through the door at many stores, so now I just don’t even bother. And it’s also making me wonder how many vintage hats I’m missing out on- though I also have a big head, so maybe I’m not missing out at all.

that cape was wonderful, totally worth the trip. Can't wait to see part 2, thanks for showing us so much of the stores, I enjoy when video photographers, take their time and slowly pan, so many times people just whip the camera around and you don't get to soak in the ambiance of the store and their goods. Love your Mom, such a precious relationship you have with her, totally worth losing a part in a tv show, I would trade with you, my Mom is long gone, and we were not close. I would have cherished shopping trips like yours with her. Oh, and the bunny's, (thousand bolts has some pretty bunny material right now).
