One of the little things in your videos that keeps impacting me profusely is when you talk about your mistakes or misfires and how you worked through them. It just continues to blow my mind that there are people in this world who do such brilliant, creative, beautiful work, and spend so much time and effort on a project, and get better and better at their skills - and instead of falling apart into a million pieces at a mistake that forces them to go back and redo something or restart or even can't be fixed at all, they?? persevere?? and learn?? and are even prouder of the final result?? My meantally ill arse really needs to see that. It's absolutely fascinating to see the process of creation of such amazing pieces and get that look into the mind that made them.

Those beady eyes have me intrigued! Spotted Poldark playing (well, being paused, to be accurate) in the background. It's fun (and funny) to see these "older" videos, because I feel like a psychic or something, like "Don't worry, Angela, you'll finish that." or "Why yes, Angela, you do secure that sponsorship for the hoop skirts." LOL

I always love watching your videos while I'm sewing. One piece of advice on the jacket lining: If you're worried it will rip or be to tight due to the jacket being stretchy, you can always work a bit of extra fullness into a pleat in the center back. It also makes it easier to move in the jacket and is commonly done in modern suits. I'm just not sure how historically accurate it is.

I absolutely love that second fabric!! I hope your immunizations went well and didn't make you too ill. Couldnt you of made an off centre circle skirt, rather than making 3 of different lengths? I've done that on a shorter skirt, but I needed a huge flounce and it worked well. Didn't know if you'd thought about it or tried it. Excellent as always. I really love your more historical items. Especially the black and red number in this video!

They did, thank you! I didn't get sick at all (figures, since I planned ahead) though I did pass out and throw up during the process. Oops. I totally could have, I just needed the volume of multiple circles and the skirt isn't a perfect slope, so I would have had to do *some* trimming anyway. Drafting them separate lengths and trimming was just less math!

On the subject of vaccinations, anyone who was vaccinated in the 60s-80s for Measles, mumps, and rubella are disposed to either get a blood draw to check for immunity levels for measles or get another vaccination as the CDC has discovered that the single dose measles vaccine may not have been enough to provide lifetime immunity.

Do you use pinking sheers on linen? I sew a fair amount of linen. Serging is great but if you want a bit more historical pinking sheers helps fraying. Binding like hong kong binding works well too. I shop at fabrics-store linen and it has so many weights and weaves of linen so you may consider. They have Doggie bag cuts of less than a yard on sale if you need really small piece.
