Great restoration!!! You have many skills that you used to make the work look easy!! I have my grandfather’s and father’s bit braces and recently used them to build a birdhouse for my sister. I have my Dad's bit brace and quite a few bits. It needs some tlc, but not as much as yours. I loved working with it as a young girl. Whenever he was doing something that required its use, he always let me do it. He would have been 104 this year had he lived. I am 74.

I don't know why they needed a ratchet. I guess if you were drilling in a very tight area, it could help. Excellent work. I look forward to more videos and I hope you talk in them.

Many thanks. Yes i think the ratchet is for confined space. Goes in both directions so i guess it could be to wind the drill out of the hole in reverse Not clear if talking is good or bad Glad you enjoyed the video
