Looks great Spider! I am going to remember the comb trick for tacks! I love your sewing machine collection.

@@rollerbald Thanks. I needed an old chair to match my machines. This one fits in perfectly. I learned a lot doing this one. I learned a lot about what not to do. Hahaha. I’m looking for another old chair now so I can do it the right way.

Hey that looks amazing! I love that you kept the original nails… man those nails are like 200 years old! You’ve got talent ! Nice touch at the end with the chapstick.

It does look great. I might have gone for maybe an upholstery fabric with a colorful Spanish look. But that is just my taste. Having said that, Spider, you did a great job. Keep making great content. 👍

@@MichaelAdamReale Thank You Michael. Yeah, I don’t know anything about this kind of stuff. I just wanted to use this old chair so I grabbed what I had in the garage. I figured it originally had brown leather and I had some fake brown leather so what the heck. Hahaha. It’s all clean now so I can actually sit on it. I would love to learn how to do it right though. I’m happy I got to use all the original old nails. Those things are ancient. How’d you like that old hair comb trick to hold the nails?? That’s what Grandpa used to do back in the 40’s. That good Ol Boy had all the tricks.

@@ivanstiles7030 That was a weird one. I had no clue how to wrap the seat. I just went with what I thought would work. Hahaha. Folding the 2 corners took me a few hours to do. I wish there was a video to show me the right way. Oh well…. The chair is comfortable now. Thanks Ivan

Now you need to find some old finials for the top of the back - where those 2 holes are - OH, and why on earth did you reuse that filthy old fabric over the webbing ? Looks better than before though !
@spiderlovesbeerohyeah4760Ай бұрын
@@michaeltreadwell777 I have no clue what I’m doing. I just wanted to use this chair, so I did whatever I could. Hahaha and the old fabric was hand washed then sun dried. It looks nasty but it smells like a summer’s eve. I wanted to keep most of the original stuff in there so maybe someday, it’ll get a proper restoration. Thanks for the info on the finials. I was wondering what those holes were for. Would You happen to know where I can find some or what the originals looked like?? Thanks Michael 👍🏼

@spiderlovesbeerohyeah4760Ай бұрын
@@АлексейКузнецов-ъ3х Sorry you didn’t like it. As you can tell, I’ve never done anything like this before. I used the materials I had in my garage. I didn’t want to invest in something I know nothing about. I did my best with what I had. I’ll do more research so I can do a proper restoration next time. If there are any tips or trick you can tell me, I’d appreciate it. I would love to learn the correct way to restore these old chairs. Thank You for watching and for your comment. This is all a learning experience for me.

@ Ok I understand now. I’ll check out those videos so I can learn more. I just like to fix things so I can use them. I didn’t want to do to much because that takes away from the old look. Thank You for letting me know. It looks like something tried to repair this chair before and did a horrible job. I couldn’t figure out how to repair the old repair. I’ll try to find another old chair then fix it the correct way.
