Thank you for another excellent video. Fascinating to learn that there are so many varieties of Brighton Buns. I have a pair made of olive wood and marked for Jerusalem. My guess is that these were made for the foreign tourism market pre-1947 like most of the ‘Jerusalem ware’ wooden souvenirs (religious book covers, small boxes, snuff boxes, travel inkwells, page turners/paper knives etc). It’s also thought provoking that anyone would think it wise to make candlesticks from wood, as opposed to metal.

Yes, it is curious to see candlesticks made out of wood and even more so a lantern out of paper. Sometimes the wood ones would have a metal disc to sit on the top of the candle sconce or the whole sconce may be brass with just the dish made of wood.
