I've been known to use sterling as a worry stone. Rubbing with fingers removes tarnish just fine, but it does get your fingers black!

You might have noticed mine were black by the end of the video!!

Hi David! Have you ever thought about doing a video on how to buy from online auctions? I am an American and am so overwhelmed with how to buy Antiques from British auction houses. So many time I have watched BH or ARoadtrip and would just love to get my hands on some of the stuff, lol. Just looking for a guide on what websites to use and whatnot. Just the process overall. I know it can add up big time with shipping costs… but there are some small items that seem irresistible!

Hi, yes, it’s pretty straight forward. If you go back through my videos. There are a few I made where I buy from auction whilst at home, sat at my computer. Take a look at The-Saleroom.com. Good luck

I know my channel is a bit crap, so I’m not expecting much, it’s just for fun, but yours is really good, I’m surprised you don’t have more subscribers and views.

David does the fact that its reproduction affect their value? You really have got the old gray matter going now. I have always looked down on reproductions. Thank you for sharing very interesting

Hi Keith, no not in cases like these. Made in a time when they still made to very high standards. Modern reproduction can be a bit rubbish though!

I wouldn't know the difference, also sometimes I see silver that is so shiny, I often wonder how do they keep it so shiny p

By the same logic almost everything is a reproduction.

Not at all. There are many examples of fresh designs coming through, but you might be surprised as to how many are just recreations of shapes and ideas that have gone before
