Antiques and Garden SHOPPING SPREE + I take my Driving Test IN FRENCH!

Today in the vlog I go to the brocante (antiques shop) in my medieval French village to buy some furniture for the farmhouse in my on-going quest to fill the entire house with as many chandeliers as possible... I also go to the garden shop to get some flowers to plant in my chateau style French garden. Oh, and I take my written driving test in French!!

Hi from Oz. As a furniture painter can I recommend using frog tape which is green for your gold trim. It will give you a great clean edge and easier to use. Use the blue if you can’t get green but green is best. Another tip. Stir your paint with a chopstick or paint stirer and you won’t waste paint or ruin your brush. A designated paint tin opener is so much easier than your screw driver and won’t bend your edges so tin doesn’t seal properly. Little suggestions that helps a lot. I’ve learnt that by experience. Love the gold touches on the doors. Makes a huge difference. Keep up your great work. I’m really enjoying it. Julie

Peonies die back as they are perennials. Good idea to follow tag on plants for spacing, better to be further apart for long term growth then having to move them because they are crowded. Plus you’ll get more flowers that way. Keep gardening, best stress reliever ever.

The forsythia in the garden are so beautiful as yellow is so cheerful and springlike. What luck to find all the peony plants popping up. I wonder what colors, although I personally love pink and fuschia. Your new garden purchases are great choices. I would love a walk around your garden snd how do you feel about roses framing the great looking entrance gate? It's funny you should say that - I just bought a garden arch to grow roses over in the back garden! Very excited for it :) it's nice working in the garden because you can really see the care and planning someone put into it years ago

Peonies are very sturdy plants with deep roots. Never give up on them. I don't think those others are peonies. They stay where they were planted and don't spread.

They are indeed! I couldn't believe they were still alive! The others are definitely peonies (they have bloomed now) but maybe they just got lost in the weeds last year and I didn't see them

You are digging with a shovel, you need a true gardening spade (has a pointy tip) this will make digging a lot easier!

The peony didn’t reproduce 😄 they don’t work like that, they were planted there. Clear the space around them of weeds, make sure to water them if it’s too dry over spring and hopefully you’ll get to see what colours they are this year !!👏🏼💕🌷✨

Get a back carrier for the bike. I watch a u tuber who bought a cottage in the middle of nowhere in Switzerland and she cycles no car. She has the carrier / trailer on the back of her bike and she gets wood , insulation, paint onto it. Then gets her food shop and garden centre shopping in it. I do be amazed watching her cycling for miles with planks of wood ect.

Wow she sounds intrepid! I was considering getting an electric bike and a trailer to go behind it but now I am close enough to being able to get my driver's license that it seems more logical to save the money towards a car

you are so sweet. I would have chosen the green sofa set! I'm pretty sure you need a male and a female peach tree. Actually just get 2 peaches and they will pollinate each other . One peach tree all alone will never produce fruit so I am told

I am watching your video and watching my own peony bush a few meters away and there is no way this happened in June ^__^ If you want to harvest fruits quickly, consider raspberry. They grow super quickly and produce right away :)
