It is hard to believe how in the 50's and early 1960's Tiffany lamps were despised as gaudy tasteless 'granny stuff'. In the movie The Apartment, Jack Lemmon has in his dingy little apartment TWO Tiffany lamps, one worth a fortune.

Her store was filled with great pieces of work and I was afraid to touch anything. I took my Tiffany vase to her to be appraised in the late 1980/1990s.
