My gf worked for a lady in Denver in the early 90's that had two Dali photographs (one was titled Monsters) in her basement, leaning against a wall on the cement floor and they were water damaged. Both were signed and numbered xx/500. I found them while moving stuff around for her, and she absolutely didn't care. They probably weren't worth this much, but valuable I feel certain.

Yes, get a new mat, all acid free everything... And spring for that museum glass. Its so expensive but worth every penny. I was just a framer (recently) and I LOVE MUSEUM GLASS. It has high UV protection, but the best part is that it appears absolutely invisible, the second best part is the reflection from light bouncing off of it is a blue tone instead of a white tone. And also, don't forget that if you only have a single mat over the artwork then make sure you also put spacers between the mat and the glass. There's absolutely no artwork that should touch glass, so if you're only using a single mat make sure to add spacers. If you're taking your artwork to a low-end Retail framing shop like Hobby Lobby, you might want to make sure that you insist that the framer framing your artwork knows 2 put the UV protected side of the glass facing the artwork

There was/is an art store in a mall by Chapel Hill NC that had lithos from Dali and other art. Once i saw the price tags and who the artists were i freaked out. I wish i had the money to invest. Art is one thing that can really return your investment. Now i live by Lambertville NJ and an antique art store has original Charles Warren Eaton, Warhol, Francis Murphy, etc. Some worth 400K and had million dollar pieces there before. That is where the rich buy and sell. When you walk around there, they watch every step u take lol. Its like a dream museum.

Just as an additional info: this in not a lithograph of "the Venus de Milo with drawers", this sculpture is called "The Anthropomorphic Cabinet" ("Le Cabinet anthropomorphique"). There are casts in various sizes (each in a number of 330 from different materials) - I think they were made around 73-82. The painting "The Anthropomorphic Cabinet" is from 1936, it's certainly related to the Venus sculpture but an entirely difference piece. EDIT: If this lithograph was made in 1965 it could have been originally a study in preparation for the sculpture that was made later on?
