A cool idea for a run could be to start a run with 6 randomized pokemon, but you can't catch/acquire any more for the rest of your run. You'll only have those 6 and if you lose some you won't have a full team

After the First trial and after you have Tauros, There's thief in the Cavern, (It's a TM, you can break rocks with Tauros to get.) I would recommend it against Marowak. It takes away it's Thick Club.

Should do a type link Nuzlocke challenge. Rules for catching Starter is Sobble So you have to catch another water type next for example Wingull. This means your next catch must be a flying type. So you catch a Zubat which is poison flying. So now you have to catch a poison type next and so on. I think this will cause you to put some thought into your catches and also a lot off luck. It also limits you to catching dual typing pokemon or pokemon that have a dual type as an evolution.
