What a wonderfully put together video Mike, from a location i most people wouldn't dream of looking for. Obviously need the weather on side, well this time of year at least. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

Glad you enjoyed it Colin I certainly enjoyed my day with Ben taking me to places I had not been to before. It was a nice bonus seeing a doubleheader and a tripleheader. Cheers Mike.

I must go over that way again Kyle in the future as there are many locations I believe I could still visit. I see you have uploaded a video tonight which I will now watch. ATB Mike.

Great location to get some video Mike, flat landscape and open skies. You even managed to get a shot of one of the soon to be scrapped RAF Hercules.
@antman09ful12 жыл бұрын
Oh didn't know the good old Hercules were going Bryan, I will go back to this area again but next time I hope we have some sun and not wind. Mike.

Not sure where Sleatford is but looks like plenty of activity around there! Some good viewpoints as well.

Oh right Gaz, its between Lincoln and Peterborough if that helps, I'm sure you have filmed trains that go to that part of the country, like the BS to Boston working. ATB and thanks for your comment. Mike.

Hi Mike, thanks for a great video, by the way there is no place called Rushington, I think you may have got confused with Ruskington, which sounds familiar. I’m a Lincs girl (yellowbelly;) who lives in the fens so I know the area you were filming really well.

Yes you are right, it must have been my finger hitting the wrong key, but thank you very much for putting me right as I didn't notice my mistake. ATB Mike.

Oh yes Steve, ok its not as good as WO, or Tamworth but I certainly enjoyed the area. Cheers Mike.

Good days work again 😀😀 The last train with the bulkhead flats reminded me of the NE derived Palbrick, designed for fork lift loading of bricks on pallets. Like the format of photo with the video train by train. 👍👍

Well Robert I try to keep the videos a bit different to make them interesting, and not the same if I can. Cheers for having a look. Mike.

Nice video of places from my youth. Somewhere by Donington? You were at Gibbet Fen. I was born and brought up about a mile north of there before moving to Werrington Junction well over 50 years ago. Instead of container trains it was an endless stream of steam hauled coal trains, Sleaford was a busy place and Spalding was like the Crewe of the East. The biggest change is the amount of lineside vegetation, none of that years ago, you could see trains unhindered for miles across the fen.
@antman09ful12 жыл бұрын
Cheers for your looking back account of what the area was like fifty years ago matey, yes vegetation is a pain all over this country, and in the steam days you had gangs of men cleaning that all away. Thanks again for you comment and taking a look at my video.

Nice one, if you were to go on a weekday (other than Thursday), you’d be able to see a class 60 on the Boston steel train. It starts off empty and returns from the docks loaded.

Yes my mate said about the class 60 Eddie, but this was the only day he had off last week, thanks for your comment and for watching my video.

Well Ben I was very pleased with this great day you organised at such short notice. I must come over again to visit the barking dog location which didn't go to well for me if you remember. But most of all I have to say Ben thanks mate for the time we spend together talking and filming trains, and the life to GRA. ps your video will be different.
