Anton is right. The woman who gave her personal example only looked at it from a child's point of view. But, what if she didn't accept the new man, and acted out quite vigorously whenever he was around, then what? Should the 2 of them proceed with the marriage, with the hope that the child will come around? I know someone that happenedto. They never got married, but what if they had? The child wouldn't have improved and, therefrom the proper respect and deference from the child would not be given. The child doesn't have to accept the new relationship. And the. there's discipline. He's going to be 'Head'. Can he discipline the child the way H-E see fit to? Of course, there are other things, but those came to mind .

Dont ever, EVER do it. Been there and done that. Thank goodness I didn't get married in said situation. And for any woman who want to claim why should a woman get with a man who has kids? 1. Women do it all the time and specifically with Pookies. 2. When a single woman gets with a single father the expectations from the man are always different. More times than not a single father will elect to remain single to avoid bringing a bad influence around his own.

I agree with Anton on this. Getting involved with a single mother is risky, and it's better to avoid. Think about it: most baby mothers are modern women, and they likely don't think highly of men. If you decide to get involved with one, you're most likely going to be the third most important person in the situation -- she will put her child(ren) first, she will be second (because modern women will never put a man before them), and you will be last. Why would you put yourself in a scenario in which you are the least important person with minimal authority?

Back in 2014 my girl of 3 years passed away from stage 4 breast cancer, she had full custody of both her kids, the father wouldn’t even take the kids for an extended time while she dealt with chemo and just didn’t want her babies to see if in that condition… she passed on December 4 2014, the father fought for full custody against her mother and won, fast forward 10 years I haven’t seen or spoke to the kids who are now young adults and it never sat right with me… granted the circumstances were through death but it add a new depth of this argument… I spent everyday with these kids for years and once the mother passed away i couldn’t even see them again because the father chose so.

Anton is 100% right on this one....i did the step dad thing and felt weird the whole time. Those kids will never respect you no matter what you do for them.... They'll run to thier real dad and think about you in their third or fourth thought. It's a no win.... But men will do it because most of the time the woman will give sex more easily. Marrying a single mother is literally no different than leasing a used car with high mileage and even higher maintenance than comes with previous owners kids that u are also responsible for..oh and just cuz u pay your monthly car note and take care of the kids that comes with the car you're also responsible for doesn't mean u can drive the car anytime u want to..u can only drive it when the dealership " feels like" u can drive it...
