I grew up around my wife in a very religious group of families. I was able to see how she moved before we were even interested in each other. Hell we were introduced by our mothers and our families hung out having dinners together. We never really dated, we hung out and then started “courting”. The importance of community in action. She would be shamed by everyone she knows if she cheated, as would I, we wouldn’t be comforted about what our mate didn’t do. We’re just in a different space than many of y’all.

Oddly enough the situation with my wife was almost exactly the same. Introduced by our mothers who met in church. Our families started hanging out for almost a year before she and I even noticed each other in that way. I was able to get to know who she was and how she acted long before I developed any type of romantic ties with her.
