buying a home means you qualified for a mortgage not that you are more successful. The only purpose of owning a home is either legacy or appreciation. This housing market does not lend to buying a home now being a prudent financial decision. As a retired medical professional that has worked predominantly with women for the past 30 years I saw successful, attractive yet single and lonely women that didn't understand why they couldn't get a man. They would often ask me my advice as to why I thought that they were single? They were educated, made great money, had houses and could basically afford whatever they wanted. Simply put, I told them they became the man that they desired. Most were shocked and surprised to hear that but a few laughed and acknowledged it as the truth. To them if you’re 30+ with no husband or kids you’re considered useless… no matter how much money you make. When she speaks to her Dad he could care less about her financial success. Like the other posters commented below me, I can relate. I remember going out on a date with a woman who just bought a home and had a brand new car at the time. Because of her material success, she behaved as if I wasn't good enough for her. She was arrogant and had a condescending personality. She wasted no time in always trying to one up me or tell me how she had/did more then I. She would even over embellish her accomplishments but I would just let her talk even though I knew better. Every chance she could get to tear me down she did over the course of me trying to court her, and at times she would challenge me directly as if she had something to prove. Yes, I did try to court her in a traditional way and paid for everything because I actually liked her and had her mothers blessings. I was never sexually aggressive with her but I did let her know I was attracted to her and at most all I got was a quick makeout session that really just set her up with another free dinner date. Looking back she was damaged goods who I shouldn't have even entertained in the first place because attractive women over the age of 30 don't end up single and alone for no reason. In the case of the woman I was courting, the backstory I didn’t know was that she decided to be the side woman to a man who already had a wife and kids for close to a decade (and she still loved that man). She also liked the drama over being in a messy relationship with a man who had probably multiple women around the town. She was literally living her own romantic novel in real time. Her biological clock and wanting her own wedding was the only reason she was motivated to break it off and was dipping her toes into dating again. And knowing what I know now, women like that take out all their frustrations on the new guy. After we parted ways rather amicably, I have continued to seek my own happiness but I no longer seek long term relationships/marriage with American women. A clean slate woman is too young and the women my age are mostly overweight with a gang of kids with criminals. Furthermore, American women as a group either prioritize a career and college degrees at the expense of learning how to be a polished soft lady/homemaker. And the rest of the bunch have spent the best years of their lives partying, drinking, and having casual sex with random men and think someone actually wants to marry them after 42 years of clubbing and sleeping around. The dating market is the worst I have ever seen it and no wonder the restaurants and businesses like Davids Bridal have gone out of business because men have had enough and are walking away.

The inner qualities from within that makes one a *lady* is wayyyy more important than whatever lifestyle she purports to live or whatever is in her bank account. It's a tough catch 22 for real high achieving women (Anton is right though, there are plenty of high achieving women who are still able to thrive in relationships because they have *humility* ). But average, regular women really need to get over themselves. The American Middle Class was able to thrive in yesteryear due to average people pairing & combing incomes to live a more comfortable life. These women don't know the type of life they are setting themselves up for by not pairing with their average male counterparts. The vast majority of men are not interested in a power couple fantasy. Your purported business acumen is not attractive.
