Great explanation and visual, coach... this is one of the hardest things to teach youth baseball players... they want to swing the bat with their arms (separation) and have such a difficult time understanding the pro one piece move... it doesn't make sense to them, so they don't trust it... kids don't believe that the arms will release and hit the ball harder than they ever could with an arm swing. Thank, coach!

what type of workouts do pitchers do the week leading up to them pitching?

Nice video how do you have your feet positioned in abnormal batting stance or slightly adjusted forward?

Can this drill be done with soft toss or off a tee or is it best with a pitching machine or live toss ?
@AntonelliBaseball6 жыл бұрын
We do it off front toss mostly, but you can do it a bunch of different ways. Thanks for watching and commenting!

You ever get a player that looks like they are jerking their front shoulder not out but toward the pitcher, almost like they are trying to generate power by yanking their front shoulder instead of rotating, also causes them to be out front. Any good drills to fix that?

Hmmm tough to tell. If you have any video of it send it over and I'll check it out!

Tremendous video! I understand the importance of maintaining the spine angle while taking some abbreviated swings, but why don't you want the hitter to place his left leg in its ordinary position for this drill?
@AntonelliBaseball5 жыл бұрын
Thanks!!! Makes you feel getting loaded around rear leg and also forces you to have better posture through the swing and good direction with your path. Thanks for watching!!!
@wgb82105 жыл бұрын
@@AntonelliBaseball So you're saying if you place that left leg off to the side, it should be easier to swing the bat along the proper path around a properly tilted, stationary spine. And then the goal would be to take that motion into your regular full swing. I like this drill a lot. Thank you.

Matt, is there such a thing as too much posture? Meaning bent over the plate too far?
@AntonelliBaseball6 жыл бұрын
Yes for sure. I'd say most are around 30-40 degrees over plate. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I fight w some of my fellow instructors with the STAY TALL comment. This shows why u cant. You cant get good shoulder tilt by staying tall
