It looks weird because it's a mask. But it's pretty lifelike in texture so it's hitting the uncanny valley. But just like the other characters Cardinal Copia is still a mask, but without the facepaint the Papas sport. Now hes Papa IV and has a reconstructed chin (to help song live) and facepaint.

Tobias is a musical god taking so much influence from anything and everything he has heard and soaking it in and making it part of the Ghost sound..... the greatest thing is he has taken what so many metal bands have tried and been accused of..... he commercialized it for the world and the masses love it... Genius and talent on a level we have not seen in years in pop music

I believe this the first song from "Cardinal Copia" (now Papa Emeritus IV) as a character. He looked way different at the beginning than he does now. Still love this look tbh, might prefer it over what he looks like now. That said, he still looks good!

My favourite Ghost song is Miasma and you should definitely check that out. It works heavily on these "building layers" that you liked. It has no music video, but you can react to the audio track only, right 😆 Anyways, love Ghost, and Rats is a masterpiece in every aspect, lyrics, instrumental, vídeo. That outro in the end just gives me goosebumps everytime!

This is definitely among my favorite poppy Ghost songs, such a good balance with hard rock/metal, great lyrics, really fucking campy haha it's great. Ghost definitely takes the piss out of religion a lot though, pay close attention to the lyrics (I mean I fully support it but just wanted to point that out)
