My thanks to you again for resurrecting this wonderful series. NBC did everything it could to sabotage it. The series had the very best actors, writers, directors and crew -- all totally committed.

I'll Fly Away has lasted for 3 seasons on PBS from 1991 until 1994. And this was one of the final television projects were produced by Lorimar Television. In mid March 1994, Lorimar Television refolded into Warner Bros. Television, a Time Warner Company.

Tucker Anderson......... a few episodes ago when Forrest was running for District Attorney, Tucker asked Forrest: "While you are prosecuting the laws, did you ever stop to think who is writing them?". I can sense my younger self thinking "uh-oh... this guy is bad news" and, sure, he is but that question 30 years later has a legitimacy (at least to me) which it did not have in my teenage years. I have been waiting for several episodes now to learn more about Tucker's backstory. Okay he had Christina's love and lost it and that is hell tragic. His family background might be behind his alcoholism (hinted at in this episode) but then... it might be something else. A guilt of some kind, a loss/injustice which has not been addressed/forgiven/sufficiently come to terms with, a trauma perhaps in a war zone, maybe he mixed in with a bad crowd, could be a combination of things... or something else. I may have answered my own question I suppose but, yeah, I suppose this is my way of saying that I like this show. It'd be interesting if future episodes delved deeper into it. Last but not least, it was nice to see Nathan finally show some support for John Morgan. Now for him to support Francie in some way. Francie betrayed John Morgan in that episode in the woods. As Lilly said, at least Francie felt bad about it. Siblings generally do play a 'tug o war'.. most obviously at that age.. but it is good to see the good stuff too. Perhaps John Morgan (dang that cute smile!) may surprise everyone and do something positive for his elder siblings? Yup, looks like I am going to be watching this one through to the end.

Many hit critically acclaimed dramas on the network were double Emmy winners Law & Order for NBC Studios (1990-present) and Sisters for Warner Bros. Television/Turner Entertainment (1991-1996).
