An old-fashioned, lakeside hotel targeted for purchase by an unsavory gambling casino promoter and situated next to a construction site, is attacked by an army of poisonous ants. Great to see an old time Hollywood star from the golden years. Such class. They don't make them like Myrna Loy any more. These retro films are the best.

@@randquadrozzi1280Absolutely! I just watched an old Western, How the West was Won. Debbie Reynolds, Carolyn Jones, George Peppard, John Wayne and Harry Morgan(not for long though), and a huge list of other greats. It's a fairly long movie too. It's done in a very unique way. It follows a family from the beginning as they trek West. It has separate stories with breaks in between. It's set up on the 📀DVD/Blu-Ray📀 like it was in the Theater way back when. There's an orchestral beginning to get you ready, then the "curtain" rises. ACT I. Intermission. ACT II. Intermission. ACT III. Fin. I didn't think I'd be "into" this movie, but it had me from the first scene to the last! Movies nowadays are just not worth the time or the effort. There really NOT worth the money they charge to see them. Plus $25-30 for snacks? No thanks. This however was worth it! Movies from the past, the 60's, 70's, 80's, and some 90's are by far better quality Movies. Especially the movies from the 60's and 70's! Those movies have something that movies nowadays don't have......HEART AND SOUL!!

"STOP HIM!!! STOP HIM!!! HE CAN'T SWIM!!!!" Okay lady, your kid's being bitten by wild ants and he's running to get some relief and possibly survive. There are plenty of adults around who I'm sure can swim and save him so I think he'll be good. You know, unless the venom sends him into cardiac arrest. But hey, at least you got to stay next to a construction site.

What a time capsule. In 1987 I was in the first grade. I spent the night at my best friends house. We stayed up until almost dawn watching this on late night television with his older sisters. I haven’t laid eyes on this movie since, but never forgot it or that night. I stay well away from ants to this day.

Hence why I said in my original comment that we stayed up until almost dawn watching it.

This was filmed at the old Qualicum College Inn (now demolished, I think?) in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island Canada. I was on vacation with my family and was 12 at the time (Star Wars released that summer) and remember seeing Elizabeth Montgomery in a drug store (she was married to Robert Foxworth) and recognized her from Bewitched. Everyone was excited they were filming a movie locally. Cool memory!!

I later learned that TV networks often pulled this trick for advertising purposes. NBC advertised the network television premiere of the Irwin Allen disaster movie 'When Time Ran Out...' as "Earth's Final Fury," even though the story was only about a volcano erupting on an island and not the end of the world. 🤣

Suzanne Sommers! She was absolutely gorgeous! She took the "dumb blonde" stereotype and she turned it into a financial juggernaut! Dumb blonde? She was FAR FAR FAR from dumb. She KNEW what she wanted, she knew what the Hollyweirdo's wanted. She was able to use both factors and she became one of the most incredibly talented actresses in Hollywood. Chrissy Snow on Three's Company is one of the most beloved characters in Sit-Com history. I didn't know that she was the girl who was shot during one of the Clint Eastwood classics. She is a legend!

I remember watching this when i was a teenager and wondering if this could become real. Looking back on the film, i'm sure they would have had some brooms and vacums in the hotel. They could have easily got out if they vacumed the ants up, stamped on them, or swept the steps off before going out. Really enjoyed watching it again.

Why didn't all of them pick a bathroom and fill the bath tubs up with water? Better than letting ants crawl all over your body.
