Actually the name of the channel is ants Canada because when the channel was first created Mikey still was a resident of Canada but by the time this particular episode was posted he had already been a resident of Manila Philippines for quite some time therefore I'm uncertain what if any creature law enforcement organizations operate in that part of the world but I'm going to say it's probably a good guess it's not the same organization as those in Canada or the United states

AntsCanada: we put her in and she is just staying still, strategizing how to get the ants. Mantis: I cannot believe I was so stupid to get caught. Well, if I don't do anything for a long time, maybe he'll let me go back to the garden. (4 hours later) Mantis: well, stupid human is not doing anything. Guess I need some food. God, I hate the taste of ants, but a bug's gotta do what a bug's gotta do. Here goes!

These stealthy predators feast on live insects, including moths, mosquitoes, roaches, flies and aphids, as well as small rodents, frogs, snakes and birds. The praying mantis will feed on moths at night -- the only predator known to do so. They can definitely assist in moth control around your home and garden.

When I was a young boy, I was infatuated with insects, especially ants and bees. I spent most of my time watching insects interact with nature!! One of my favorites was the Cicada wasps!! My Grandfather lived in the country and we had a large garden, bee hives, chickens and a goat. I would get up early every morning, and go outside and spend all day watching insects. When I got older, I would go to the library, and read every book they had on insects. I really enjoy your KZbin channel, and your enthusiasm. To this day, and I'm now an old man, and I am still interacting with insects. Your KZbin channel is one of my favorites. Don't stop!!!

You are a very good story teller. That is probably one reason why so many of us find ourselves fascinated by these 15-20 minute videos! If it isn't too late, I have a submission for the Asian Mantis's name. They hold their scythed arms before them as if in prayer, as their name suggests. They are fearsome warriors with undoubted killing prowess. I am reminded of the Negoro-gumi, a sect of warrior monks of Japan. They were critical participants in several battles of their time, and like the mantis, they spent more time practicing their deadly arts than they did actually praying. Negoro is my suggestion!

You should put a few more of these mantis into here just for population control. I think 3 would be interesting to see. They could even mate so you have a constant juvenile mantis to feed on the ants when you let the bigger ones go. Would be an interesting dynamic, great video as always.
@somewizardguy1495
@somewizardguy1495 6 жыл бұрын
Nick Sibilla, good idea, until the female eats the male. Female mantises eat the head of their mates once the deed is done, so there’d need to be more and more males added, and that’s if the biggest doesn’t straight up eat the competition. Mantises are very solitary animals and (as stated in the video) the species in the video would eventually outgrow the terrarium, and need to be replaced with another juvenile.

Wrong, there are some mantises that can be keep in groups with enough food, but in most cases even for those, it last only for their stage 1-3. A way bigger amount of mantises are simply aggressive to each other. Also, if a female mantis would get pregnant, and lay the cacoon, there would be 100-400 (depending on the species) small mantises. From the beggining, some of them already eat each other as the first meal, and they are quite energetic, so they might alarm the ants, and making them terminate all the mantises
