Do you know how much water is there? (Like in liters) I'm assuming it's small, so I'd say scarlet badis, or chili rasbora for a 18 liter and celestial pearl danios for a 35 liter

Wow! I think you should do mourning geckos/vampire crabs because they are so cool! Another option could be dart frogs which would look really nice.

This turned out great!! I would recommend a morning gecko/vampire crab combo. The geckos would leave the adult crabs alone but would still keep their population in-check by eating the babies. This is a great food source for the geckos, and the crabs eat so much of everything else decomposing (they are detrivores) that their population in the tank would never go extinct.

If I had this paludarium, I'd add vampire crabs, mourning geckos, Malaysian trumpet snails, least killifish, and maybe a couple of reed frogs.

maybe vampire crabs ? they're going well with shrimps and morning geko too goes well with vampire crabs but they do need many time a day some artificial rain to mimic their natural environement

I was thinking about those! My recent shorts do also reveal a few things that I add in 😉 But I’m still undecided on the water area. I am thinking vampire crabs though 😄 But still undecided I’ve added the shrimps and the clean up, next is water area, fish and crustacean or amphibian like newts or salamanders maybe? 🤷‍♂️ I can’t decide haha

Hi, just found you as I was planning to build a square tropical reef aquarium and put dart frogs in the middle. Now I think I'll put a platform in the middle with the frogs, tropical plants, waterfall, stream, etc..if I can fit it all. WDYT? Advice? I'll start with the reef aquarium and slowly build the paduarium in the middle. I like how your rock edges drip water. My plan was a 48x48 reef aquarium, with the island in the middle. The aquarium will be about 12-18 wide, leaving a 24x24 platform or a little smaller. I was also going to grow some cannabis on the island, WDYT?

Yeah exactly! also the roots from the plants in the canopy act as a mechanical filter & the biological side as the plants help with the nitrogen cycle :D

Well anything harsh below I’d always say your clean up crew, you can add various types of springtails, isopods and even better - worms! I’d love to keep a ball python, especially building a tank for them too!

Loving the build. It looks awesome. How often would you do a water change on something like this?

I would typically do a water change every 4-5 days at first for the first month, after that it’ll be every week, a few months down the line it’s just the case of topping up the water level and siphoning the bottom whenever it’s too messy, that’s it really 😄 Further on is better as plants are pulling most of the nitrates out of the water column anyways 😄
