Rare 1990 WFWA signoff without benefit of a staff announcer mentioning the information where the station is located, the transmission information, and the owner(s) of the station. Just words on the screen with video fragments of PBS shows. Nice.

I lived in Defiance, Ohio for just one year, from August 1988 to September 1989 (the company I had worked for had just filed for Chapter 11 in May 1989 - it is now officially out of business - and as a result I was forced to return to Michigan). I remember the signoff for channel 27 in Bowling Green; when I wasn't working on Sunday afternoon they had some great old "swing choir" shows the local high schools put on. Those were fun to watch. And, of course, I remember channel 30. When I lived in Defiance, the signoff they had was much better than the one posted above; they played a piece of Debussy's "Clair de Lune" as the signoff message was being delivered, with a shot of the exterior of the WGTE studio at night (followed by a locally-produced version of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's "Star Spangled Banner"). When I lived in Southfield, Michigan, I was also lucky to pick up channel 30 again; I liked their "Music Under the Stars" Sunday night concert shows from the Toledo Zoo. That also gave me a good reason to go down to the Toledo Zoo on certain Sundays during the summer and see the show live, in person during the late 90's and early 2000's. Such great times.

My primary and former secondary PBS member affiliate KERA 13 and kdtn 2 did have sign offs in night and sign on sign on in morning I was sleep at the time they closedowns.
