I never thought of it like that because the first time we see the termites they’re just giant savage monsters that got the blood lust on them. Although that would explain how they came up with that surprise attack before the ants came which means they knew they’d be outnumbered by them but planned it so they could take out as many ants as they could. (I’m literally imagining that this type of termite has a brain that’s even smaller than the size of a t-Rex brain and a peanut combined as I write this.)
@scorpiusrexman10172 жыл бұрын
I have a theory on this film that I had as a kid and it was that the Termites actually knew what General Mandible planned to do to the workers and Queen their ally due to maybe a termite ambassador staying at their colony for a while overheard his plan with the mega-tunnel being used to wipe out the old Queen and all the worker ants Unfortunately General Mandible found out due to Cutter or some other ant Loyal to General Mandible scouting their colony and him overhearing the termites knew about the plan and were planing on stopping him with the Termite Queen sending her soldiers to warn the Queen (Bala’s mother) about Mandibles treachery So he deduced that the Termites had to be wiped out in order for mandibles evolution of a perfect colony to work so he sent the queens most loyal soldiers to their deaths I bet if the Termite Soldiers didn’t attack the Queens Loyal soldier ants and told them about Mandibles plan and he sent them to fight a quote on quote “Enemy” that mobilized against them to basically kill them off so his plan could succeed I mean the Queen ant in this film stated they have been in peace with the termite colony for years and all of a sudden they mobilize “against them” it doesn’t make any sense unless they knew about General Mandible’s plan to wipe out the Queen and the workers and repopulate with Bala Would be something to be concerned and worried about I mean General Mandible planned to commit mass Ant-Genocide so he could have a world where only soldier ants survive and thrive They mobilized to warn the Ant Queen about his treachery so he sent the queens most loyal soldiers to kill them off along with their before they can go warn the Queen and so they don’t repopulate to create a resistance against mandible And if my theory is true then….this film got even darker due to the termites actually still being true to their peace with the ants and were willing to stop a plan made by a psychotic General ant by warning their ally’s leader and mobilizing to basically arrest him before his plan could come to fruition Only for the psycho finding out and sending the most loyal soldiers to essentially get themselves killed along with their allies so they wouldn’t get in the way or stopping him from doing his genocide

But what was worse were those who were crying for their queen. A grueling 7 hours. The war lasted for 3 days. I was wounded, my best sibling saved my life, but he was killed. We won the battle, but with a huge cost. 1,955 of us were killed, but 6,000 we're wounded, including me. The Generals 60,000 men would eventually win the war. But to me, all I did was survive. The best movies are FAMILY movies like this that speak to everyone. People think of Disney as Kids movies but the best ones are movies like Antz and Shrek. They have adult content. They literally just showed the horrors of war in a kids movie. It's crazy accurate. My buddies and I sing and blast music while cleaning our weapons and make morbid jokes about how we aren't coming home. There is always the new kid who isn't ready for the Army and who finds his harsh but fair softie that wants to mold him into a soldier. At the same time it's animated and something kids can relate to. I don't think that caliber of movie will be coming out again anytime soon. Technology has replaced a lot of creativity. You used to have to spend hundreds of hours drawing all these Antz marching to war, now I can do it in an hour on Blender in my room.

When a 90s animated film targeted to kids managed to portray the horrors of war accurately. I remember thinking Barbados’ body was buried underneath all the rubble, but the fact they made it just his head really pushes the dark aspect and This is basically "A Bug's Life" meets "Saving Private Ryan". and The general sends forces loyal to the monarch on a suicide war, while keeping forces loyal to him fresh to fight against the monarch.... I don't know why but this reminded me of that scene in Starship Troopers where they fight the bugs.

Like not even a meme.... this is a better battle scene than most movies that are actually made to be war movies.... That initial line charge is pretty epic specially for a kids movie XD

These are the queen's finest and most loyal soldiers going to an unnecessary war to be slaughtered so they couldn't defend her in a possible coup d'etat conspiration carried out by a power hungry general. This movie lore is very adult.
