these sound marvelous and seem very projecting in their clarity. thinking if i play in a group they'll make me sit in an adjoining room to play.

Very nice! I thought the UT100 sounded like the love child of the UT200 and the Singer RT1M! These new models seem to have that Singer jangle.

Yes, good point! They're Moon Singers. Or Singer Birds. Or something!

Haha, thanks John - yes, best to keep the top of the head off the screen to avoid glare from the lights!

They all sound great. Hopefully the concert size with the slotted headstock also has space towards the neck. (the AKK2 was too narrow for me there)

I think they might be made to the same pattern.

Oh, I like those, especially the concert. There’s sort of a “grand” sound to them isn’t there? I know what you mean by the hint of resonator. I need to come to the shop when I’ve saved the money for something in that price range, as there are lots of tempting options for my “forever concert”. Or maybe tenor… that’s something to narrow down too.

If you got a forever concert - I think you'd have to swear yourself off KZbin forever! No more temptation!

I keep thinking the same thing. I should buy the forever Paul. Wish I lived closer to a shop like this to pick one out but Matt is right. You tubes make the new ones look so tempting !!! It’s a dilemma !!

@@WorldofUkesI could still look at tenor, soprano, and baritone videos though… ;)
@bonniedavidson936 Жыл бұрын
@@paul_mitchener_ukulele Of course I meant the forever ukulele. Not the forever Paul 😂. Keep buying ukuleles. Paul. Life is short. One of my friends asked why I needed more than one ukulele. I have to remember some people are asking sincerely. I always get defensive. They come in different sizes. Tone wood. Etc etc !

Thanks Matt, initial thoughts were, Man, Matt struggling to describe the sound of these Ukes mean they are going to be different. After viewing I totally get the resonator chime in small dose. The concert was even more so. If you had said it had an amplifier or some other item in them, I would have believe it. Quite a bright uke, with certainly a unique sustain on the concert. Wonder if they’re braced differently🤔. Great description. Have a great day.

Yes, I think they're braced differently - the initial attack is quite strong, then the volume comes off the gas quite rapidly leaving a shimmer. Man, I'm still clutching at straws on how to describe them!

Well, I looked, trust you to start with the tenor!! Sounds like a " peal of church bells" in an English village! Nice.
@WorldofUkes Жыл бұрын
I started playing the soprano if that helps! I started with the tenor in my hands as it didn't fit very well on the chair and I was afraid of clonking it. Honest guv!

Hmm. Not picking up the same 🎹-vibes here. But seeing as you are by far my superior (uke-wise in any case that is 😆) I trust your observations. I did look up the Sixty Seconds Sound Sample (... 👅) vid of you playing the Moonbird US-200, which is at the very top of my wishlist, 🐖🔨 (oh, there's that hammer) and went back and forth between the two to compare. It's clear that they are at least cousins (that projection, wow!) but to me the 200 sound is more balanced and mature than these flock of Birds. Which sound more... jangly? Also, I like the rounded 'cheeks', defined by that dark Rosewood, better on the 200 series. 🍑 They remind me of a Puffin somehow... Very different from this sharper cutaway. Speaking of 'cutaway'... no hydraulic desk chair sans armrests? Could've just pulled the lever... ⤵️🦳🤣

As my late uncle used to say: "Wenn der Verstand wächst, müssen die Haare weichen." Translation by google: When the mind grows, the hair must go. - Verstand = mind, sense, intelligence, understanding / weichen = to give way (or space), to evade
