Kishore Kumar was very famous for Yodeling. Example Haal Kya Hai Janab ka song and also songs in Jumroo movie. In sound of music “One little goat” song is also yodeling.

You have a wrong concept about Tremolo. In Tremolo the frequency is constant, but volume changes (oscillates), which you can't do by vocal, or by the instrument, it is done electronically. I do that with my Fender Twin Reverb Amplifier. You are correct about vibrato, in which volume is constant, but frequency changes up and down, which I can do in the slide guitar by oscillating the steel bar. Just Google it.

Most of the time the vibrato is heard in songs because a singer is unable to sustain a straight note. Kishore Kumar was known for yodeling. The song you mentioned is phir raat kati.
