Having lived in Mumbai for so long (specifically the western suburbs), it’s hard to believe Mumbai has undergone such a dramatic transformation over the past 6-8 years. The costal road development is truly inspiring. In conjunction with the BWSL and Bandra-Versova Sea Link 🔗 it will provide much shorter commuter times and alleviate traffic congestion to a great extent. Rumor has it that it is being extended up north to Kandivali. And that the Maharashtra government is actively trying to secure Japanese funding (JICA) for further extending the sea link all the way up to Virar using two separate alignments. Correspondingly, the metro line 3 🚧 construction 🏗️ and newer bullet train corridors 🚅 will help also convert Mumbai into a Global Financial Center. Now all that Mumbai needs is a truly international Interstate Bus Terminal (ISBT) on the lines of the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City, NY, United States 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

The WEH is indeed a disastrous so called highway, but it will soon be replaced with a coastal freeway like the one in the beginning of the video. There was no proper urban planning in India before the 2000s, and its difficult to tear up and redesign existing cities in a democracy.

Fantastic :) Edit: some exceptionally rash behaviour I noticed: 11:51 SUV overtakes from the left, using the bus lane, obviously going above the speed limit (80) 23:25 Wtf 💀tries to push into the car in front, brakes, then cuts in front of you.

WEH has to be the most neglected and gruesome part of any person's journey. The road has very few smooth patches and most of the ride is bumpy. The bikes, autos, tempos and trucks make the experience even worse because they don't drive in the left lane and alot of these vehicles max out at 40 kmph, especially when there is a gradient.
