Bro in DC only resistive loses occur but in AC we have 3 types of loses ie resistive, inductive and capacitive. In winter you can see corona effect in transmission line due to capacitance in transmission line , same happen with inductive load in AC system it reduces the power factor from 1 due to which we see fluctuations in voltage lead to more power loss in transmission line while in DC we only have resistive loss . Apart of this you must understand the fact AC current run on the surface of conductor that's why we use multicore cable for more power / energy transmission. While in DC transmission current run inside the conductor that's why in old telephone coper wire landline system we can see single core cable. In old days only disadvantage we have against DC power transmission is that in AC step up and step down process is very easy due to use of transformers while in DC it's very hard to step up or down the voltage in old days while now we have power controller semiconductor devices by using which we can easily step up/down DC without converting in AC .......

Bro , AC and DC both can be useful for transmission. It all depends upon Length and power for more than 500km and higher power. If length is less than 500km and power is compared to then HVAC is useful as cost is less. There are some graphs in our academics.
