Whenever he has made films by his heart he has got in to controversy , you spend lot of money behind the film ,at the end what you get ,censor board either does not pass your film or you get in to leagal trouble as some group or people stand against the film and you ..Later some people start attacking your family members , if you present your side . It is better to close your eyes to outer world and make compromise in your movie making ...

What OG? His best craft Gangs of wasseypur was highly inspired by the Godfather.. most of his movie is copy of spenish or other language hit films.. His most if the movie was not able to collect even 50 % of budget.. Keneedy, Almost pyar with dj mohabbat, Dobeera, Chocked,Ghost stories, thriller factory,Manmarziya, lust stories, mukkebaaz,madly, Raman Raghav 2, Bombay velvet, yeh iski last 8 years is movie h jise inse direct kia h... Animal is one of the most original and best ever movies imo. Everyone I know hated the character and loved the movie. Director did his job well. The movie is rated-A and named Animal. So what's all the fuss about. Everybody wins. Even women at multiplexes and sub-urban regions seem to love it from their reviews. They get the movie. Certain section championing illusory causes and labeling things cannot accept this imo.

What if Animal the movie was satirical allegorical art like animal farm ( sequel mentioned in end credits is animal park ) and it's writer director an auteur like George Orwell whose subterfuge style is by replacing showing a dystopian society with just a rotten individual When the protagonist slashes the neck of the antagonist, there was no gasp of horror from the theatre audience, in fact the bgm instigated the audience , whose pavlovian response ,as tutored , was to stand up at the sound of an anthem , to now clap n whistle , which reminded me of another December in 1992 when Bombay riots had broken out and the privileged neighbours had similarly turned on their minority neighbours , without any remorse and taking pleasure in extracting cold blooded revenge .. Vijay + 2 sisters (sanghi-bhakts-shiv sainik) is the offspring of sarsanghchalak of swastika industries (rss symbol ) who slashes open the neck of abrar haque ( muslim ) to extract revenge .. attack in a corridor ( godhra train burning) attack in school (jnu ) hotel ballroom where the educated people are forced to close their eyes while a person is strangulated ( 370 article abrogation n internet shutdown) Is #Sandeep Reddy Vanga an abstract painter toying tongue in cheek with his critics?

After the colossal failure of Bombay Velvet this guy is supposedly gone bonkers for sure. His movie quality has been on decline since then. Also his Abhinav directed only two films and Anurags entire career movies collection is less than Abhinavs Two movies. And yes boxoffice collection does matter to a certain extent and beyond a point. His first three movies, though, will be landmark movies interms of quality.
