since you dont seem to know how to use an EMP, ill help you out. Shields will eat/absorb EMPs and protect the ship very well. So you need to strip the targets shields 1st, (if it has multiple facings, then strip one of the sides and make sure you come from the side of the ship that is missing its shields, and THEN cook off your EMP) Your EMP didnt do much in this video because you were using it wrong. if you take out the shield THEN use EMP, you will have a very high chance to shut down the enemy ship for 5 minutes. Larger ships are more resistant to it, but Repeated doses of EMP in rapid succession will fix that. so will adding abit of distortion weapons into your mix to keep them from recovering between EMP bursts. (it doesnt take much, 1 or 2 distortion weapons will be fine) Distortion also only starts to work/do its shutdown thing when it hits a ships hull, it is not effective vs shields.

I also believe you need to be a certain distance from and to. I think its in between 200-400 meters.

@@WethDeath yes you can use lasers of any kind to help strip shields, sense ballistics pen shields and attack the hull. cannons or scatter guns would work best for this. i like cannons cuz they are more utilitarian with range advantages over scatter guns. BUT an argument can and has been made for the use of scatter guns by travisssmith1290 in the comment chain here cuz you have to get close to the ship anyway to EMP it. hes not wrong, and this is about the only time using scatter guns would be useful.

Your right, especially with this new weapon balance pass, 50% of your damage is instantly mitigated with shields vs ballistics.

you'd be way more precise with the gimbals on. Also, the EMP is useless if you go with a ballistic build; this ship works best with a full omnisky laser canons setup. Lastly, welcome to the Hawk crew! It was lackluster before mastermode so most people skipped it but now... it wrecks!

Assuming that this ship is able to deal with ERTS is literally clickbait. ( No hate btw ) I have done thousands of ERTS and there is no way a Hawk can deal with these ones. Considering first that your opponents didnt even shoot at you most of the times and second you forced a 1v1 with the redeemer which should kill you almost instantly due to your ships constellation. For PVE not really recommended because the only reason why you wanna run ERTS is the chance of getting drugs and selling them. Also you lose a lot of time for "only getting 25k" for this mission. I'd rather say the Hawk can be great for PvP but not necessarily.

You take it all so seriously, this is for fun. And yes you can kill ERT ships easily with this just stay out of fire. My videos are more about how to enjoy the game not some grinding, taking everything seriously. o7

@@infinitespace239 How do you justify yourself by saying its for fun? You are making people believe that this ship is great for ERTS but its not. Also you dont enjoy bounty hunting at all with this ship because you get destroyed INSTANTLY. This is a very bad example that you are showing because ERTS can have the following ships as "Boss": Aegis Hammerhead, 890Jump, Aegis Redeemer, Drake Corsair, MISC Starfarer, Aegis Retailiator ( Not anymore in 3.23 ). I would be happy to see you destroying a hammerhead with his ship. If you really wanna have fun with this ship ( considering not doing it for grind or whatever your opinion is ) just go for VLRT's - MRT's.

Try full dominance laser scattergun build. In 3.23 it’s the highest burst dps weapon in slot size 3 and below, you just have to be nice and close to avoid spread. Enabling stagger fire turns it into an automatic laser shotgun of death. MxA cannons are second best in slot

Hawk loadout question Hello, recently I've been curious about running the Hawk in bounty missions. I'm trying to use x4 size 2 laser scatters and x2 size 1 laser scatters. The size ones won't fire even though they are in same fire group. Im also having issues getting the emp to fire. It charges but when i fire it just resets and starts to recharge. Am I having power issues? I'm also open to loadout suggestions, thanks. Here is my loadout Hawk Hardpoints: X2 dominance 1 X4 dominance 2 Power plant: Regulus QT: Voyage Coolers: X2 zero rush

Maybe switch this size 1 to something else in your choice. EMP, you have to get the shield down to work. o7

I haven't played since 3.17. They took the chair away from my hawk! I used it to chair (bed) log or take a passenger in a pinch. Oh well, I was curious how taking bounties alive would work with that chair, seeing as all they discussed was pods. I do not think the hawk gets enough love from CIG IMHO. Love that ship. It's c tier at best in fighting, shame. Will never git rid of my hawk though.

It has always had an emp. It just comes powered down as default. You have to enable power to it and then you will see it power on. Assign it to weapons group 2 and click once to charge it and once to set it off once fully charged. Remember to wait till enemy shields are down first. The hawk doesn't have a powerful emp so mostly good against light fighters. It's efficient though as it's custom built for hawk.

The hawk is not good! If you loose one engine, you’re in a desth spin and not able to die. From PVP ranking, the hawk is not that good as you assume! Take the Buccaneer and try this ship in combat
