Oh wow. I do not think I could do your job at all! Cold, wet, and barfy are not things I'm into. That said like the creative storage: you are definitely getting a lot out of a small space. No idea why this showed up on my timeline, but you do a great job narrorating your videos. Cheers!

Hi Amy!! Thank you for being here and being patient with me!😄 I miss them too! There will definitely be a June budget and I’m hoping to be home for Transfer Tuesday today (it’s currently almost 1am and I’m sitting at the dock, waiting for a boat trip 😂🤞). So it may be a little later in the day but I am really wanting to get back into the swing of things!

Well done on passing all your exams. Omg you’re amazing and brave to go out to sea after that experience. Just to listen to that experience is made of nightmares. The amount of stuff you’ve to take on board is like moving house. That sailor can’t blame you cause he got caught not being up to date with his boat. Glad to hear a few things changed with the noise levels even if it just makes it a little bit more bearable. Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 🙇♀️👏👍💪🙏💐🐈🐈⬛⛴

I’m glad you are moving. Sounds like the captain was living out the movie The Perfect Storm crazy ass. I’m glad your enjoying the area😊❤😊

I’m glad you’re going to move Rachel. Peace of mind is most important. I look forward to hearing about your first trip. I’ve never heard of this observer type job and I am quite interested.

Keep believing Rachel! Your wishes will come true 💖

OMG, I can't believe what you went through being on that boat in a huge storm with a captain who seemingly had no regard for safety. I would be too terrified to get back on a boat after that. I hope that you are able to find a suitable apartment where you can feel comfortable and relaxed. Hopefully your job situation will get better also.

Youre a better person than me l wouldn't be getting back on any boats after your previous traumatic experiences Some of those boat owners dont sound like they care about safety or the rules! At least you have requested short trips

wow - - - that is quite a story.... impressive really. you have had a very interesting work life. i am in Bourne at our beach cottage right now. 2 neighbors are both commercial fishermen. it is a week end thing - they both have regular jobs and do the fishing because they love it and i guess it helps -pay for their cottages. i wonder if these guys have had an observer assigned to their boats. maybe not these are just officially above the level of hobby - they happen to have a commercial license - so i guess they sell their catch. small boats - - they driveway size- - they even catch enough to be observed. enjoy your trip & please do share what you can about the experience. it is super interesting.

Wow! This is not right. I know looking for a job is taxing but I think you should continue to look for employment. It should be a little easier because you have income coming in. Take it easy.

Is this a per diem role? Are you paid only when you go out to sea?
@its.rachel.hickey8 ай бұрын
Essentially, yes. We are paid a rate per day at sea, as well as some hourly time for doing paperwork or traveling to a different port or whatever else may take some time on land.

Why don’t you bring your pretty self to St. Louis, and stay with me and my pug . Get a job when you want . Live in an awesome apartment . If things take a turn come restart it out here with a 45 year old former Mainer

Since you haven't gotten to go offshore and actually work yet, and you gave up your unemployment benefits, can we assume you are living off your emergency savings?
@delayedgratification5818 ай бұрын
Did you say why you didn't vet the apartment properly?
@its.rachel.hickey8 ай бұрын
No, I just have never lived above a restaurant or food shop before so never dealt with 10 straight hours of hearing music every day so I didn’t even think about it.

It's recommended to visit the place many times throughout a weekday and weekend. I hear you, there's typically no sound proof in US housing. Learned it the hard way I guess. Anyway, onward and forward!
