Mind Juice Drinks well I ended going on medication because I got very depressed. I’ve also been in and out of therapy my whole life. But I learned about a lot of coping mechanisms. It’s hard you explain it here because it depends on the kind of fear. But usually when I get panic attacks I go for a run, it usually helps me calm down.

I just watched the overview of categories, but PTSD and OCD were listed as separate categories within DSM-5. Would the MCAT list these under anxiety disorders?

Dear Doctor, Actually I am having IBS with Anxiety disorder for the last 10 years & taking medicine for the last 5 years but still I have not recoverd completely. But recently I am understanding that I had ocd but I thought this obsessive & compulsion is a normal thing and I ignore it from my early age 13 itself and never informed about this to any psychiatrist. Also recently I discussed with my father about my ocd problem then he conveyed me that he too had this problem at his early age in 20's but he never gone forever treatment but he is ok now by avoiding the compulsion. My doubt is Ocd leads to IBS ? And can I take treatment for both.... And moreover my OCD condition is moderate only but still it's affecting my life . But my IBS is very horrible . Please suggest me ..... Whether this condition is treatable......

Lol I’ll add myself to the club. Haven’t been diagnosed with anything beyond GAD cause the meds are the same but I’ve always has the worst intestine/stomach pain especially when I was younger, as well as lots of obsessive thoughts and behaviours. My dad is/was the same way so I kinda just thought it was normal and that nothing could be done. I finally got on Zoloft and after the side affects wore down I found myself for the first time not having bad headaches as well as the stomachaches. I had just assumed everything was normal and that I shouldn’t ask for any help.

Pray, hope, and don't worry. ~ Padre Pio. I used to have GAD three or four years ago, and I went to therapy but also I went to church a lot. I went to holy mass. The therapist I got was Catholic and she was very helpful. She told about praying was a good and essential for being anxious. do what i tell you and come back to the comment. tell me the results. ;) God bless!!

Hi! This are just a thought. Don't make such such thoughts real. U have identified yourself with such thought. So stop making this type of thought and don't believe in such thought because they are not real. Now whenever such type of thought came then don't do what thought tells u to do. Just observe the thought without reacting to it and u will see that if u dont react to the the thought then after sometime the thought will go away. Just don't believe in the thought and don't make this thought real. Always have positive thinking because what u think that u become so if u want positive changes in your life then think positive thoughts only.

Kanak, you may not have intended to be insulting, but you have perpetuated one of the most harmful myths about mental illness. I can know that somethingI feel in my body is part i’d my panic disorder, but that doesn’t change my body. For most people living with mental illness, we don’t have the choice to ignore obsessions, voices, delusions. That’s why it’s a disorder. Suggesting that mental illness is a failure of willpower or control over ones mind is insulting and will lead YOU to cause further harm to people living with mental illness. please don’t ever do it again do some research, read the stories of people living with mental illness. do not add to the oppressions stigma that makes living with mental illness stifling and full of despair

damn I lost count of the number of times mental illness what’s STIGMATIZED in this video: “that’s a problem” “wreak havoc” “not appropriate” “suffering” there are much more compassionate ways of describing experiences of mental illness. disorders do NOT describe a person, they describe an illness as a person living with GAD, panic disorder, major depressive disorder and a certified Youth Mental Health First Aid, I’m thoroughly insulted. it’s no wonder that soooo many doctors, nurses and psychiatrists are prejudiced against people living with mental illness if they’re being taught by someone like this! this should be taken down immediately
@jessicaaustin29792 жыл бұрын
I disagree. As someone with multiple mental health disorders myself, also in school to become a psychologist, I didn't feel the least bit stigmatized as I have in other situations. This is informational to the general population who is learning. As someone with OCD, it is not approriate for me to be cleaning at 4am when I have to work at 8am. I know this, but I cannot help this. She is not insinuating that the expiriences of the disorders are the person at all. I am diagnosed with 4 of the disorders above and have been in many treatments for 7 years and felt the video was very informational. So informational in fact, I sent it to my boyfriend so he can understand me a bit better.
