Good thing no one was comin up behind Shabani at the beginning. That might’ve ruined their day a bit if he couldn’t hold it.

Annie is the most sensitive to weather patterns i.e., heavy winds and rain. Nice that her family supports her during these times.

Annie has black eyes like Lope. They would make a interesting pair.

i wonder if the gorillas would get that freaked out because of wind if they were in the wild or if that is a side effect of them being able to find shelter so easily while being in the zoo. i've seen them out in the pouring rain and even some lightening and they werent as anxious looking as they were here
Maybe they smelled something in the air with the wind blowing soo hard 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️

Do they ever get protein? I know they are herbavores, but peanut butter even? Hard tonimagine such big animals eating veggies all day
@spacecat31989 ай бұрын
A copy paste from an article on medium: Gorillas don't need to eat protein, because they grow their own protein in the bacteria that thrive inside of them. The gorilla consumes the vegetation to feed the bacterial colonies of their microbiome, and then absorbs the protein formed by the bacteria as they feast on the cellulose fibers of the vegetation

These poor Gorillias enclosure is awful.!. Everything is metal and there are human steps instead of trees and simulated vines. To me, they look mostly bored but making the best of what little enrichment they have. 😢 They need to either be returned to the wild, or transferred to another zoo where their needs can be properly provided for. So sad😢😢😢

Returned to the wild? 😮 they are well provided for by the keepers.

I wonder about their ability to have meaningful lives in their contrived situation.

Umm Wow, these Gorillas are Extremely Loved cared for by keepers who have the knowledge of knowing what's best for these Beautiful Gorillas. Have you seen how Huge the outside premises are and all the structures for keeping them occupied? Have you really looked at the main inside enclosure? It's huge and plenty of structures with different rooms to go in. This main room is Not their sleeping quarters, that's down on the next floor which is their sleeping quarters with plenty of straw and blankets to sleep on. These Gorillas really have a Great Live compared to other zoos who have Extremely Small enclosures with no bedding and barely enough food. These Gorillas are fed way more and better everyday. There are other zoos that do Not have a variety of different foods and are fed pellets with maybe grass or leafy branches. For being in captivity, these Gorillas are living a Great Life. If they were put back in the wild, they would die or get killed. I understand this is Your Opinion but honestly I don't see what you've described in Your comment. Take the time to observe how these Gorillas live at this Zoo.
