Massey Ferguson and Iseki are owned by AGCO. In Australia both brands sell tractors. Generally the smaller tractors are Isekis made in Japan and the larger are Massey Ferguson’s made in various countries. Some of the smaller Massey Ferguson tractors are rebadged Isekis.

I remember going to farm shows with my dad when I was a kid. He grew up on a farm and it never left him. Anything that had to do with a farm was his soul's call. The old horse teams was great to see. He did that and talked of it a lot. I can hardly imagine how grueling a day would be working a field on a leaf spring drawn by horses.

I spent four months at Chanute at the beginning of my Air Force career nearly 40 years ago learning how to repair several types of jet engines. I always wondered what they did with the base after it closed. Makes sense since it was already surrounded by corn and soy bean fields, just like where I grew up in Indiana about three hours away. Memories....

Hard to imagine crops growing right next to the runways on Chanute AFB. Was there back in 1992 when I went through USAF tech school there. Being a country boy from the red hills of east central Mississippi, I had never seen that much corn in my life in the flat farm lands surrounding the base and Rantoul. I really did enjoy exploring the area. Of all the places I went in the Air Force, Rantoul made me feel at home. Awesome video, Tim.

Really enjoyed the old tractors, combines. We farmed 1200 acres in the Oklahoma panhandle in the 60s-1976 and my dad had a Minneapolis-Moline dealership and we sold the Moline irrigation engines, 602 ci 6 cyl, we had a 95 John deere combine and a 105 combine. We raised milo and wheat plus we had alfalfa patch also,24 acres. Fun times sunup to sundown. Alot of work. Had 1 tractor with cab, no A/C, but the windows opened, Moline G1000, 110 hp propane.

The MF dealer is less than 2hrs away while the Yanmar is 40min away. I really like the 1840M, 5yr warranty and 8yr financing, but Yanmar being closer, 10yr warranty, plus a 10yr financing program. Tim, I have the 1835M and for the features, it's a great machine. Didn't get the cab option (I opted for the woods backhoe instead was about the same cost). So far, been a very reliable tractor. Probably could have gone with the 1840M, but the extra couple thousand at the time was a little too much to spend. I'll have to upgrade when I trade it in for the next one...

Cool to see you on a B2401DTN. I own a B2401DT (same tractor, but not narrow. Same size as B2601). Great Video Tim. Love the Farm show video's these are always some of my favorites to watch, great content! I have the LSS on my 5115M, and never knew it existed, till 6 months ago, just prior to buying the new to me 2013 5115M that came with the LSS on it. I really like the video title, because that is exactly what I said, back when I first got my 5115M home, "what is that" referring to the LSS that was mounted on top of right rear axle on my 5115M. Fast forward a few months I now have an LSS kit ordered for my 4066R, that is one awesome feature, and you all demonstrated exactly how it works. Well done. That loader suspension system is really well worth the money. I know its optional on the Deere 4 series. It maybe even available on the 3 series. Massey not the first to offer it on the smaller tractors, just maybe the first to actually promote it and tell people what it is and how it works, like they were clearly doing there at the Farm show.

Mid mount mower( what a time saver), backhoe( boulders, electric lines and stump removal has been a lot of fun)and the loader( With a scoop scoop here and a scoop scoop there) 😁 . Then came the box blade which has already proven its value on my driveway. With plans of regrading the yard brought the rota tiller and as for the clearing out all the under brush in the woods. Go go gadget Artillian grapple has been delivered! Bush hog coming soon 😊. I suppose I might as well get a trailer which makes me think a new 2500 instead of my 1500 pickup. Nice presentation of the farm show Tim. Also very interesting regarding the 5 1/2" distance on the Kubota pto to hitch dimension. Liked the Sassy Massey review and explanation of the accumulator. That's offered on the Deere Series 2 with a snowblower on the front 3pt hitch. But as I am looking to build up a somewhat bare 2018 2032r I am considering a 4 in 1 bucket for grapple purposes and cost. I liked seeing the 4 in 1 bucket in action at Kenny's property. In terms of comparison to the Kubota line, I believe that Massey 1840 with the premium features is a much closer comparison to the Grand L4060, which also has the soft PTO start, the sound isolated cab, 3 range transmission (plus a two speed auto/manual electronic shift giving 6 range options), up to 3 rear SCV’s, and a whole lot more in terms of premium features (except no loader accumulator). I looked very closely at the premium Masseys 2 years ago before buying my L4060 and they were a very nice tractor. However, they did not offer an OEM integrated front third function valve, and the dealer was much further away than the Kubota or Deere dealers. The Kubota L4060 has met or exceeded my expectations with the very wide variety of attachments I own or have borrowed. I’m not sure what the fixation is with the PTO spacing but I’ve hooked up countless implements to the Kubota with absolutely no PTO spacing issue. But of course I don’t own a Rino flex wing mower, nor will I, but even and if I did, I’m sure I could use a different PTO shaft rather than that enormous one that comes with it, which looks difficult to get your hands around even to hook up. And there’s one other anomaly with that Rino mower: If that 10’ flex wing truly only needs 25 HP to run, it certainly does NOT require a PTO shaft that ridiculously big. Moreover, I wouldn’t let that one implement with an oddball PTO shaft determine my tractor choice.

I mentioned the L4060 as the closest Kubota matchup didn’t I? Your tone comes across as argumentative.

@@TractorTimewithTim Yes, you did mention the L4060 as one of the comparative tractors, but I was making the point that the Grand L was the closest comparison as opposed to the standard L series. I didn’t intend to be argumentative whatsoever, but rather was just trying highlight which Kubota was the most direct comparative unit. The standard L wouldn’t have anywhere near the same features as that 1840, but of course that would be reflected in the pricing. I do, however, find the continued highlighting of the PTO spacing to be a continuing slight against the Kubota brand. You have every right, of course, to point it out, but the reality is that the slightly less PTO to drawbar spacing is no issue whatsoever for the hundreds - if not thousands - of possible rear attachments that can be used on those Kubota’s. It’s rare to even have the drawbar installed with the vast majority of attachments, and even if it was installed, it wouldn’t be an issue with a typical PTO shaft designed for up to say 60 HP. I still don’t understand why such a huge shaft is required for a “25 HP rated” attachment. I’ve never seen anything of that size with any attachment designed for a compact tractors in the 20-60 HP range. Hence, to me at least, it’s that huge Rino PTO shaft that is the problem - not the PTO spacing.

Yea, definitely not a competitor to the standard L. I specifically mentioned L4060 and L3560. Kioti has the same drawbar limitations as the Kubota, but they were not at the show. Someone has to point out these design limitations, or they will never be improved. As you can see from this video, the major Ag manufacturers provide ample separation. Sorry it offends you. I point out deficiencies that I see on any brand. This is the only way the machines will be improved. Perhaps your attitude would change if I spent some time bragging about the 2 speed shift on the go hydrostatic tranny of the Grand L? I like that a LOT. Great useful feature.

Yes, parts are scarce. However, I wouldn't say "No parts are available'. They are still making parts and tractors, but there are definitely supply problems.

Website says no UTV's allowed but Tim said there were several at the show. Did I hear that wrong? My FIL would love to go to shows like this but he has mobility issues. Thought my UTV might be a solution.
