What an extremely odd representation of Swedish snacks. Meatballs are not a snack - you have it for dinner, the yellow things I've never heard of, and the rhubarb drink (rabarbersaft) is by no means a typical swedish beverage. Also, very few people would eat the pickled cucumber as is, but rather as a condiment to eg meatballs, or on a slice of bread with leverpastej (a kind of liver based sandwich spread). You're thinking of normal table salt when you imagine a salty taste - Sodium Chloride. The salt in salty licorice is not that. It's Ammonium Chloride. It is MUCH saltier than normal salt. If you take the salt from Djungelvrål (the candy here), and compare it to normal table salt, the table salt just tastes like fish/saltwater. No matter how much salt you eat, it will never be saltier than Ammonium Chloride. It's not about amount - it's about flavor. I highly recommend you try it - if only for the experience. Djunglevrål is so good. Mouth is watering just at the thought 🤤
@kallebogren35782 жыл бұрын
There are two different types of licorice, sweet licorice and salt licorice. Djungelvrål is not salt licorice, as Alexander claims, it’s sweet licorice. It’s just covered in salt.

@@ExperimentIV Tack så mycket! I love sweden as a country and i think the language is amazing, i only know basic phrases at the moment but i work to improve every day. Do you have any advice or recommendations as to how i can improve? My current routine is quite scattered but I usually wake up and listen to a swedish podcast while also using language learning apps such as duolingo throughout the day, in total I probably spend 30-60 minutes a day learning swedish but i enjoy every second.

@antivanti2 жыл бұрын
Best reaction I've heard to someone trying Djungelvrål was "What is this? This isn't candy... This is punishment!" I should mention btw that it isn't the same kind of salt as regular table salt (NaCl or Sodium Chloride) but salmiak which is NH4Cl or Ammonium Chloride. It is more intense than sodium chloride but tastes very different.

@holliswilliams84262 жыл бұрын
I'm English and she doesn't really sound English to me, she definitely has a bit of a South American Spanish accent coming through quite a lot when she speaks, maybe I can only hear it as I studied Spanish. Like when she says ''oh my God, you people are crazy'' at the start she sounds very South American, maybe Colombian or close to there.
@Threeleebird Жыл бұрын
@@holliswilliams8426 Well, since her family moved to Argentina when she was a baby, her first language was Spanish and she learned to speak English at the age of 8, basically because she didn't want to learn that language. As a Argentinian, it's beautiful to listen to her and see that she never lost the accent of our country despite the fact that she has spent more of her life in other countries.
