Well done on the video. I have one of these and have been very please with it. Always been a bit worried about the fancy electronics but they haven't given any problems yet. Also have a Mate with one and it is just sitting on a dirt floor, no problems. I'm interested in the tooling you come up with. Congratulations.

That little thing weighs 25 tons? How'd you get it in there? (I'm fully aware what "25-ton press" actually means. This comment is a joke.)

Buy a Disconect Switch it turns off electric power to your machine No unplugging power cable .

Would it be possible to add an automatic oiler to the ways on the press? I look forward to your projects - as I've said in the past, I admire your jig and fixture making, so this offers exciting new possibilities.

Nah, too messy. I figure if you're forging all day, add a dab of oil to the ways. Thanks! More to come.

What happens wenn you move the lower sensor up? It is adjustable from what I can see, would be nice if it will set the travel downwards.
@rigoniironworks Жыл бұрын
Ok, I just tried that out. If you move the lower sensor up, that sets the lower height. So, the ram will compress down to that set height off the lower die and won't go any lower. I think a cool use of this could be axe forging, where it drives down to your stripper plates, but doesn't contact. I'm not sure if it is accurate enough as a digital height block. I'll keep you posted.

Awesome informative video, thanks for sharing. What did you make your 6 x 6 dies out of?

Hi, I used h-13 blocks. 2"x6"x8" annealed from Southern Tool Steel.
