what exposure time did you use on the eco resin? i had tried resin yesterday and it failed with a 2.4 exposure time on the mono x but other resins are successful. great pieces and and nice video

These "Eco" resins are progress but the way they are marketed is borderline criminal. No SDS information is given (at least I could not find any on the manufacterer's page) and instead the impression is created it is completely safe. Eco-resin from the competition which supplys that safety information shows an Hazardous warning sign and declares that it is acutely toxic when swallowed but also irritating to the skin but also for the respiratory tract and of course contact with eyes needs to be prevented. Long term exposure should be prevented. Of course FFM printers also create fumes which one should limit exposure to as well as possible but resin is nastier by design because it needs to be at least partially in monomeric state and monomers need to be reactive and are therefore more dangerous. Eco or not. This should be clearly communicated and marketing that is hiding that risk should be illegal, plain and simple.

Thanks for stating this, I was wondering about this specifically when considering the "eco resin" term used in their marketing. It's so dangerous to mislead consumers in this way, because people will use it indoors without taking the proper precautions like ventilation and away from children and pets.

isnt ECO a way to saying that it wont damage the environment in the long run? I do not think any "ECO" components are targeted or safe for consumption in any way. As for the rest, it seems the usual warnings to avoid stupidity by humans. Why do you think bottles of soda have the idiotic "do not open right next to your eyes" warning.

@@TravelWithCesarin Not really. I know, marketing makes it look like that, but in reality it just says that it is made from ecological, renewable sources at least to a high extend. I am not objecting to that, to the contrary. What I am objecting to is how marketing is endangering people by deliberately causing the impression as if these substances were relatively safe to use and actualyl hiding SDS information. I am not sure why that is even legal. This is not a soda bottle. Chemical warnings are not stupid "caution coffee may be hot" signs. They highlight substances which need special attention as no one can know all the risks of all substances by heart. Different risks also need different precautions so there is actually added value to them.

Is the benefit to a resin printer not needing to make molds? You can just keep printing more figures? Could you please do a tutorial on setting up models for print (separating heads from torso, arms from torso with precise holes that lock in)? Thank you

No it’s not. The amount of printing time and cleanup work that goes into printing one figure it’s not viable for making in a big scale and the material is not as tough as polyurethane resin for selling

This printer is really quiet but the fumes are more about the resin. The eco resin doesn’t have any fumes or smell but most resins do

I think just size because the screen pixels are individually the same size although the screen is larger so x/y detail should be the same. But i don't own one so could be way off!

Photon S is 2K, the X Mono is 4K

This is my favorite printer to date. It should hold up any details look at some of the other prints. The leviathan on the model wasn’t as good as the final render

You don't need much to start. $500 or less and you're off and running. First you really want to figure out what it is you want to print. If it's just mini figures and stuff like that a regular Elgoo Mars or Anycubic photon is all you need. If you want to make larger props or structural prototypes then get an FDM printer that has a build volume 200mm cubed or higher. Remember with FDM there's a lot more clean up of pieces to make them look smooth. My advice buy a smaller printer as your first and work up slowly from there.
