You have a very nice Walstad aquarium. A year ago I successfully made a small Walstad bowl 3 gallon with only guppy grass and creeping jenny. I now have a semi-walstad inspired 20 gallon tank which is also going great since February. What is the foreground carpeting plant you are using in your setup? I remember watching you set this tank up months ago so I will go try to find the video and see if you label it in the vid..

Maybe your snails have too much food and don't touch hair green algae Google: Ramshorn snails are known to eat soft green hair algae, which is a type of filamentous algae that grows on surfaces in aquariums. They are attracted to the soft, green algae and will graze on it to help keep the aquarium clean. Do Ramshorn Snails Eat Green Hair Algae? Yes, Ramshorn snails are known to eat green hair algae. They are attracted to the soft, green algae and will graze on it to help keep the aquarium clean. They are one of the best snail species for controlling green hair algae in aquariums.

Mine have been eating all the hair algae off the hornwort in their tank so it probably just depends on your shrimps and how you're feeding them. Not to mention the sources I've found online seem to all say they can.

@@dognbundad they eat biofilm off of algae and literally anything, but they don't actually eat the algae. Neocaridina shrimp to be specific. The internet isn't reliable, different sources will say different things, but in my experience as a neocardina keeper, they do NOT eat hair algae
