My grandmother Stella lived in Anyox in 1921...she came over from Wales with her Aunt Eleanor (Nee Williams) and her Uncle Owen Elias Evans who was a brakeman. He died in 1921 due to an accident when two trains collided. He was thrown under the train wheels and died the next day due to his injuries. I grew up hearing the stories of the Anyox mine. I'm sure my great Uncle Owen Evans is buried in the Anyox cemetery. Great video!!

watch Exploring Abandoned Mines video on anyox he covers alot of it and you see why it was shut down and hasnt been re-opened.. never a good idea to let people who dont know proper explosives use, to use explosives...
