I love the screen and touch pad. Really intuitive and comfortable to use. I spend sixteen hours, per weekend, driving this thing. Ergonomics is not an issue. However, it does have an electrical issue that causes the screen to go blackout. I had infotainment issues in my Cadillac also. This vehicle is a great value. Not only that, it is a really good vehicle.

I've always liked the MDX. It's a really handsome SUV. If my dad wasn't waiting for the refreshed '24 GV80, I'd tell him to get the MDX fully loaded instead. I'm also an "audiophile", and I've heard that the ELS sound system in Acura cars pretty much contend with premium B&O, Meridian, Naim, and RR custom audio in more expensive vehicles.

GV80 is Extremely unreliable and this MDX will outlive it at least 3x over. Our 2016 MDX has outlived 2 GLE350s and we are on the third one. MDX Still going strong. GV80 reliability scores are war worse than GLE with parts getting installed backwards and stuff, MDX is a buck better option IMO

The 2024 MDX is exactly the same as my 22 MDX Advance !! Except for a nice Bump in the Price of about 6% !! My MDX lease comes due in August 2024 (3 year lease). I have already been offered an Early Termination Loyalty amount of $2,500 form Acura via their dealers to do a New lease on a new MDX (or other Acura vehicle). Mine only has 11K miles on it after 19 months. The Purcahse option price is at $38,500. That sounds like a bargain to me (or to one of my Family members). Let's see if Loan Rates (I'm Top Tier Credit) drop by next year to older reasonable levels say 1.9% or so. Or I may cross shop against a 22 MDX Type S !!

Acura usually doesn't make a lot of changes for the first 3 model years (22, 23 & 24). The 4th model year or 2025 Acura MDX is when they do the MMC (Mid Model Change) with interior/exterior updates, update in tech, update in luxury, and/or any powertrain changes. Might be worth waiting to see the 2025 MDX and then you have your pick from the 2024, 2025, or Type-S models from either year.

Love it except for 1) All the piano black around the center console and dash, 2) the infuriating track pad set up, 3) the cluttered console area with the focus on the drive mode dial instead of a clean more storage useable set up. Drove one on a long road trip and the RDX, both fun to drive, handle great and very comfortable specially the roomy MDX.
@MIZUNOMP60

Get rid of the Piano black Acura, and re-think the dash and console area and the horrible trackpad! Otherwise, it's a winner. I'd buy one in a heartbeat for how well it handles, comfortable it is and the awesome sound system, but I hate the dash layout and the trackpad. If this had the new Grand Highlander's dash with the 12" TOUCHSCREEN and the passenger shelf built into the dash with the USB it would be just about perfect especially in the Type S. Took a friend's MDX on a long road trip, found the trackpad a total distraction to use, too sensitive and unintuitive. Touchscreen is what the majority of people are used to and it's second nature to us to operate like our smartphones! New CX-90 similar but the dial is a little better in operation. Let the customer's choose how they use their info screen like BMW do with both touchscreen and dial operation!

I have always said that the weakest feature of my MDX was its mpg, but I bought it anyway, knowing that the mpg was crap. I liked the simplicity of its clean body lines. Today, I almost had a heart attack. I drove 130 miles...about 5 miles in the city and the rest on the highway. I hit 28.3 mpg at the end of my trip. That was the best mpg I have gotten. We own a 2023 MDX Tech FWD and it gets incredible MPG for the nearly 5,000 lbs SUV. In town we are averaging 22 mpg and on the highway with a 400+ mile trip we averaged 27.2 mpg. We live in Texas so we do use 93 octane. I am more than thrilled with that especially since we had lots of ups and down and it was not particularly flat. This is my third 3.5L V6 (2008 Odyssey, 2017 Accord Touring V6, 2023 MDX) and I would argue Honda's J35 series is one of the best V6 motors ever built.

@s.patterson5698 Age 6yrs-14yr old child would automatically be attracted to the rear 3rd rowseat if other siblings got on nerves. I don't have any kids. But I remember when we got the Dodge Caravan minivan in the family. In early 90s. My sister purchased it. I did the legwork. I have a nephew was young back then. The traveling in minivan with his friends. Also my goddaughter that was 7yrs older than my nephew. Every year a trip to Myrtle Beach SC. So yes you have 3rd row passengers at times on long trips. If you have 5 or 6 passengers somebody going in that 3rd Row. Apparently the vents are important to many people. As I said, the 2023Pilot Elite has them. It's a 1st cousin to MDX. I hadn't thought about it until I start looking at buying 3 row SUV. I was set on full redesign of Honda Ridgeline Pickup Truck. Surprisingly many Pickup Trucks don't have rear seat air vents and are complaints. The Ridgeline had them. But when doing a search on 3 Row SUV it is a question by people for 3rd row vents.

I test-drove this car (2023 version). Love it (I only drove German cars before) except for the touchpad. I'm actually fine with a non-touchable screen as my previous Audi S4 also did not have a touchable screen - but the trackable pad was basically asking me to not use it at all - and it's very dangerous to use it during driving as it's very distracting. It was actually the deal-breaker for me at that time. Would like to get an MDX in the future when Acura gets rid of the trackable pad. Everything else is great, even the sound system competes with German car's reference sound system - that is to say, it's close to B&W and Burmester ($5-6K+ additions) and is surely better than the basic sound system and Harman Kardon, B&O and Bose (basic update - $1K additions)

couldn't agree more - test drove the 2024 a few days ago. touchpad WAS the deal breaker for me, I'm still wondering how in 2023 some car manufacturer still thinks it makes sense to put a touchpad?!?! I had issues using it while the car was in park mode, imagine while driving, even after getting used to, will be MORE dangerous than a normal touchscreen, it's just obvious - with a touchscreen you press and you select, with the touchpad you scroll through all the options and your attention is on the screen. not only that, the hand/finger needs to stay on the touchpad else it goes back to where it was (!?!?). Even the wheel is better. who are these geniuses making these decisions? the sales rep even said "customers prefer the touchpad" - yeah right! and that "Acura does not follow trends, but sets new ones!" LOL. by traveling back in time? why not use candles then, instead of light bulbs Acura?

All set up upgrade my 19 MDX Sport Hybrid Adv for a +22 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid. Unfortunately, no hybrid option for this model run. I will keep my 19 MDX hybrid longer and might have to jump ship to Lexus or Mazda if Acura still doesn't provide a hybrid option for the next gen MDX after this one.

How is your fuel economy with your MDX hybrid?
@mrgold3591
@mrgold3591 Жыл бұрын
@@zemo2332 My lifetime is 24.5 mpgs for +45,000 miles with around 50/50 city to hwy split. The posted interstate hwy speed is 75 or 80 mph depending on the state out west (usually 5-8 mph above that with cruise control). The lowest mpg I've seen in the low 20s are in winter in single digit/teen temps with every heater on. The hybrid uses very little EV mode at those temp. Pretty consistent mpgs in the 24-27 range above 40 degrees. No problem always going 425-450 miles per 19.4 gal gas tank in city/combined/hwy driving with the MDX Sport Hybrid.

The CRV ride is closer to the Honda Pilot for a softer comfy ride. The MDX and RDX will have a more sport tuned suspension and more aggressive sh-awd system tuned for a more sporty ride.

Finally got the chance to test drive the Advance model 2023, for starters i was under the impression that the interior would wow me, sadly, it did not. Having own a 2011 MDX with SH-AWD, i had high expectations. The gray leather interior with white accents, was mediocre at best. However, i did test drive the MDX A-Spec, honestly Acura should be a shame of the interior. I am referring to the low quality suede combination with leather. The A- spec i drove had 788 miles, loaner car up for sale. The interior was destroyed, the suede like material was all wrinkled, right away that was a huge turn off. Going back to the Advance trim, the rims were an improvement over the A-spec in fit and finishing. The interior was just ok, i couldn’t justify dropping $65k in a car that has an ok interior. The ride was quite, the dynamic mode is a placebo control. The only mode that stands out is the Sport setting, purely based in the throttle response. Otherwise the car’s long hood view in combination with the soft ride, makes it feel like a boat. Sad, because i am the proud owner of a 2nd Gen MDX which has 300HP and a 6 gears but the car drives properly. The advance having 10 gears drives with a slight hesitation under normal mode and the power is not there. My 2011 is a base mode, but the handling is tight. Steering is good not great but under fast spirited straight line my MDX is a champ. Sadly, after test driving the Advance and the A-spec, I couldn’t drop my hard earned cash at the Acura dealership. Will have to rethink what brand i look next, i am sad to say i will be looking at a Highlander 2023 and if not i will look at the 2022 because that is the last year for a 6 cylinder. Acura says performance but the only think i could think was how disappointed i was with the lack of a well thought interior, as when you have a family the interior takes a beating. My 12 yr old MDX, the interior has held up amazingly, great quality leather and carpet, the use of wood, very well cushioned front seats. Even the seats in the new MDX were just ok. By the way the Head up display is such a waste, wear sunglasses and it becomes useless.
