In all of our (guitarists) quest to find our tone and our dedication to learning/practicing and building our techniques, I think we all forget to just play...you obviously still have fun just playing. I really admire that. Keep it up!

Mark, pay no mind to the haters, they are just jealous. I know I am, you are a positively blistering player. I'm a neophyte, only mess around a bit and play mostly rhythm stuff (not good enough for most leads yet) but have been improving. Been watching your vids for about a year now, really great stuff. This Any Way You Want It is a clinic in how to play this song, especially the solo, which is insane. I plan to get some of these Suhr pickups for my PRS Custom 24 SE soon based on your vids.

@rsaenzs I like them both. The Aldrich's sound more "real", fantastic clean tones, tight, cream leads. Not as much gain as the Blackouts. I am really liking the Aldrich pickups...I feel a change coming on :) I have played actives since 1985/6, these are the first ones I've actually liked...they are wonderful!! Mark

I can't really see the heel, but I would have pegged you as a Les Paul Axxess man; the one with the heel scooped away, a la Neal Schon. Is this an Axxess model, or the standard heel joint? If it's standard, what up wif dat anyway? Who wants to deal with clunky wood at the upper frets? Btw, if you do like the Les Paul with scooped heel, try to find an older Yamaha Weddington; a Les Paul with extreme heel scoopage, and a 5-way for some split tones. Very well-made guitars.

Holy gain, Batman. This is classic rock, not "br00tl d3th metulz". I don't think I've ever used that much gain even on my "excessive gain" lead tones. Good playing though. Is that the original you're playing over, or a backing track?

@MiketheGuitarDude91 6505 is probably less than half the price of a Bob Bradshaw boutique amp. The OD100 will by all accounts be a 'better' amp, but voiced differently to the 6505. You should demo both if you can. I own a VH4 and despite the massive price difference, I think the 6505 is a killer amplifier for the money. It sounds much, much better than it costs. I'd go 6505 personally & save your pennies. Resale on CAA isn't great either.
