I would rather have a competitive market of ideas in politics than "unity". Too much unity is what lead to our current state of neocons and neolibs. And more unity that that would lead to an actual single party authoritarian state, which it can be argued we're already in, we're definitely on the cusp of it.

Nonsense! It was always unanimity with Republican craziness. Just because the Democrats came up with a particular leader does it mean there aren’t diverse ideas going on. Kyle, Jimmy Dore, Brianha Joy Gray and others had no strategy whatsoever with ForcetheVote. It was pure stupidity of strategy goes, unless they had a plan before that election of 2020 and afterword to hold feet to the fire for those who didn’t vote for Medicare for all. It was ridiculous, since Kyle and justice Democrats gave up after 2018. They thought by $HiTTing on the Democratic Party in the primaries, they might end up with a progressive. That just turned everybody off and more mainstream Democrats got elected in 2020 and 2022. Kyle is no strategist and has no sense of history

From a CDN's POV, i would encourage the "squad" members to take this experience as a lesson in how to play ball, politically -- how to hold out in a block for concessions, otherwise your countryfolk will start calling you all Dumb'rats. No changes to AOCs policy The AAAS has literally reviewed and published over 200 scientific and engineering decarbonization plans since 2019, so you’d think they actually might know wtf they’re talking about when it comes to developing a coherent and feasible plan to reach net-zero emissions instead of just demanding 100% renewable in 10 years (without even identifying what sources or how much of each sources) and that billionaires would pay for it (even though per DOE published reports the cost would be greater than the net value of literally every billionaire on the planet, which could in fact also be why they recommend along with the IPCC and UNFCCC to primarily draw revenues via carbon taxation, but ya know clearly a BA economist knows more than institutions that have been developing climate policy for over 30 years).

You got me on AOC. She sometimes does do and say dumb sh*t but not this one. Congress effectively organized into two parties since almost in it’s inception give or take a few years. The federalists, Democratic Republicans, Whigs, Jacksonian Democrats, Northern Republicans to modern day Dems and Republicans. Congress’s foundation is based on institutionalized power and hierarchy. It is about optics and it is about party loyalty. You get away with some votes but when it comes to party leadership you do not question it and the majority of the Democrat voter base agrees.
