The majority of the supreme court depends on random factors, like the health of justices, when they choose to retire (which, if from health, is pretty up in the air), which presidents are in office and how much sway they happen to have at the time.

The Supreme Court made the right decision in that case. There was nothing in the constitution guaranteeing abortion so the Court did the only reasonable thing and left it up to the states to decide. We should remember that the Supreme Court has made many strange and clearly wrong decisions in its history. The Court decided that black people were not fully people, that it was okay to have "separate but equal" facilities that bolstered and expanded Jim Crow laws... There have been several times in the Court's history when ideology and religious mythology usurped individual rights and freedoms because some grand dad on the Court decided that their view of Biblical ideals was more important than the rights of people.

The constitution is supposed to neutralize the different ideologies of the different political view points. It has to be true to the constitution and not favor one party over another. If anyone thinks the court should be more liberal or more conservative then you don’t understand the purpose of the Supreme Court.

If an MD accepted a gift and did not disclose it, there is Hell to pay. Every time they accept a speaking engagement or submit an article to a journal, they are asked if they have any relationship with any medical or pharmaceutical company. If they fail to disclose, not only do they face real consequences, they also face significant repercussions from their professional peers. But judges, of all people, are free to do this!!!!!! How can anyone have faith in the court?
