Yeah I remember him answering a question about whether there would be a 'battle of the casters' tournament a while ago. He was trying really hard to be gracious but point out the elo difference, like "I don't think so, that might not be, you know, as competitive, maybe, as the community would want to see."

I believe he was a top 100 player back on voobly for a little while. He just doesn’t practice to be a professional player. With enough practice I think he could be similar to Daut. Not the best apm, but great at strategy and game knowledge.

To balance, they should make a "random" civ pool which excludes all of the worst civs to balnce it up a bit

You do realize that if you remove the "worst" civs, there will be a new definition of "worse" civs in the map pool right? Honestly I think it would be better to remove civs completely, and pick 4 units you want to make, with a custom hero.

Big Mustache Energy for victory. I think the battle royale mode is great, its honestly the best way to do royale in this, it works really well inside aoe2. They put a lot of work into it for sure.

The original soundtrack songs have been reworked and updated in Definitive Edition - rerecorded with more modern instrument samples and production quality but otherwise mostly the same. Unless there's a mod, you can't get the original ones in DE. However, you can go into the sound options to change a few settings for music, such as to prioritize your civilization's theme song or something.
