Why defeat France when you can beat 7 of them at once? And why restrict it to 7, when instead you can use them to get all of the achievements?

I remember playing aoe 1 (I think (helmet with a read feather was the desktop icon)) I was horrible at it. But one day my brother told me about the cheat console and the one mighty cheat to win every game... Big daddy. It spawned a cool black car with a rocket launcher on top, which rekt villages and entire armies. So I started a new game. Hopeful to finally achieve victory against the ai (I always played on the easiest settings, and lost :( I was that terrible at the game). So I launched the game and the first thing I did, was to create a huge army of big daddys. My plan was to destroy the enemys once and for all. It took me a hellalala long time (since I didn't know about ctrl+c ctrl+v and a pretty bad typer :D). After I was finished, I launched the attack. Dozens of rocketlaunching cars charged against the enemy bases. Mu first victims were the innocent villagers harvesting wood In a forest near the enemy base and then it happened. One of the priests of the enemy converted one of my big daddys(wolololo nananaaaa) and I didn't notice. Soon all my big daddys were gone. Destroyed or converted. Then they attacked my village and slaughtered every single living thing. Be careful what you create... it might turn against you (Philip, you always manage to make me feel nostalgic. Thank you

supcom 2 is a much more "basic" RTS in the sense that the resource gathering, unit creation, and scale feel much more like a traditional RTS. IMO supcom 2 completely lost the magic that supcom 1 and supcom FA captured so brilliantly. It had some cool ideas and units but i ultimately didn't play it almost at all, while i played the others for hours and hours on end and still play them sometimes to this day

Aoe 2 was one of my first games too, my dad would have his friends over and they'd have massive lan parties. Then after he'd be still wanting to play more, so he allowed us kids to play (me and my brother) it was loads of fun, we only ever played against ai but that made it so we could custom trailer the difficulty so the players that would build a total of 5 spear men within the first 15 minutes (like my young self) would be just enough help to overcome the enemy as my father and older brother built hoards of paladins and trebuchets. Those were the best times, i wish i could turn back time...

Me and my best mate used to LAN the shit out of Black Forest. I always went Vikings and he went the Teutonic Order. Our games would last upto 12 hours. He was a better player than me and won most games, but in no way did it take away the fun for me. The channels and bottlenecks we would create through the forests with our walls and castles. I often found myself sending workers off to random parts of the map in the hopes to build hidden bases - just like you mentioned. This gave me a good laugh. We found having one team of Huns and Goths vs another team of Huns and Goths against us with another random AI each ALWAYS gave the best and most brutal battles. So many great memories, so much fun.

As soon as I heard that horn in the beginning I had flashbacks, such a great game. One online match in particular stands out on a mostly forested map with an X shaped clearing running though the map. It was a glorious slaughter between four players that went on for what seemed like hours until I was finally beat back the last guy, destroyed his town center only to realize the bastard had a completely different settlement in the corner of the map hidden away! At the time it had never even occurred to me that you could do that.

Used to play the hell out of this, AoE3, and Empire Earth 2. My dad (a computer programmer) found some way to install and port the latter on my computer, play it to this day. I miss AoE2-3.

I clicked on this video thinking it was by Spirit Of The Law. I was surprised when I started hearing your voice.
