Really excited to try this out! My current Delhi builds are sooo streaky, depends too much on opponent’s approach. I love how this build feels like Delhi gets to dictate the pace and take map control in a very unique way

I've been doing a pretty similar thing but I've been rushing efficient production over sanctity to spam out spearmen/horsemen + archers. I'm usually in a position to push around the time sanctity finishes so I get the sites at low risk while they are defending their base. Also if you open with 3 build lumber camp -> wood, 1 builds mill -> berries, 2 build mosque -> berries you don't get the little glitch where you are missing wood for the mining camp. Overall a great build and I've definitely learned a lot about Delhi watching your stream!

Absolutely loving the content these build orders have been helping me get a bit of an idea of what to do as my first real AOE game vs'n my mates who have been sweating hard since AOE2. We have a little tourny going so ive been using your discord to help find people to vs and teach me how to absolutely catch my mates off guard.

Ive been using this strategy for the past week and its pretty effective. Honestly I think its a requirement for delhi to go for sacred sites early to be competitive since theyre worth 200gold/min which is a lot of vills on gold

TIL: monks with relics can convert units from neutral(quitter) civs. So you could take over other unit types and have fun with them in a multiplayer match

Can you or have you done a video on building placement/city layout. Like strategically where are the best spots to put buildings? Is that even a consideration? Thank you!

I believe that, as long as your buildings are in the influence area of a mosque, it's not super important. Buildings that are in the front of your base will be closer of the ennemy base if you produce units, and buildings that are behind your base will be less vulnerable to attacks, but I don't think it's super crucial in 1V1 matchs. Except some civ specific placement things to take care of, such as Golden Age with abassid which necessits a very compact base to maximize its effect, or the Aachen Chapel of the HRE which buffs gather rates, so it needs to be placed near a lot of working villager :-)

How does this build do against the english? longbows rekt spears and scholars, by the time you got 2 spears they already on 5 or 6 longbows, what approach would you take in this match up?

i loose with dehli against longbow rush every time. even if i open with horse men. they build just few spearmen to protect their long bow.

I'm hesitant to try to contest sacred sites against these civs...I want to get to the Castle Age as fast as possible. I think horseman harass to keep them distracted and try to snipe enough sacred site gold to age. It is tough for sure.

Why get Survival Techniques first your not even hunting the sheep or deer yet?

It isn't great to have wheelbarrow first since it will make your villagers hold res earlier before dropping them off. In the early game, you need these drop offs to hit your batches of military units, vills, etc. It also takes a while to research. The hunting upgrades will boost your food gathering from hunts and have a greater impact on early Feudal age. It is an interesting topic with a lot of debate, but that's my thoughts!
