@ what i did was I start with a few and then after a few weeks add more. I say start with select idle villagers which cause you can look at which resource stopped being angered and assign them. Then know the keys in production cause mouse is kinda slower. Also if you bind like say your tc or barracks to a number you can use Tab+number and it will navigate to the hotkey without shifting your focus and you can continue producing.
