The controls ARE AMAZING I feel aoe4 on console was down SOOO Good. I played a lot of age of mythology and stronghold crusader and these console controls have made quality of life fixes I WISH those games had.

I would welcome some more macro focused mechanics on PC too. Reducing the micro workload and letting you focus on more macro strategy is more fun imo.

Hey FitzBro. I don't know if you know about navigation waypoints. You can press left and right sticks together to save the camera location. Then you can switch between them with left trigger + move right stick into you camera location. Is very usefull to have one in your base and second for your army gather point. Anyway cool content! I came from AoE2 Xbox and really love how they made AoE4 for controllers. It works really smooth. See you on a ladder maybe :)

Played through all the campaigns and a little multiplayer on pc and just played the first few missions on console with a controller and it’s been super fun so far! Thank you for the tips, auto produce villagers and the easy way to increase the number building is awesome!

Is there an easy way to repair siege with a villager? I always have to snap to a villager and then find my siege to make a mark for my villager to repair. Was wondering if there was a hidden contextual way to do it or something. Thanks

Great video! I remember in AOE2 we can ring a bell & all villagers come inside the town center. How do I do that on a controller in AOE4?

You select vills you want to evacuate, press a Seek Shelter button (I think it's X), and the vills will run to the closest garrisonable building, like after a town bell. There is no town bell, because it's a noob trap in AoE 2 as your entire eco just stops and you get more eco damage than the raid would do, and every AoE 2 tutorial video teaches to never use it and garrison individual villagers that are being in danger instead.

Select a villager, pull right trigger to access the build radial, press up on the D pad to build a landmark, assign 4 villagers to build the landmark to complete your age up 😎 ***If you are playing Abbasid Dynasty, you must build the House of Wisdom, then select the landmark and choose a wing to build to age up.

You don't age up through a town center. You build a specific building with your villagers. *select one *up *build *when finished you are in the next age
